Is it hard to get AFL full membership???

Why don't people just do this (other then the cost issue).

Full memberships require you to be placed on a waiting list. Silver members wait on this list until full members drop off, i think, and then they get offered full AFL membership.

From what i have heard, the wait is anything from 5 years to 10 years.

So i can't get Eagles memberships in my home state yet when i move over to Melbs to get full membership over there, i can't get it either.

Smells of massive horseshit to me.

Bump.

I'm interested to know if historically the allocations for GF tickets have made it down to the AFL Silver Member non-competing club level or whether they're typically exhausted before that.

Any good or bad luck stories to share?

The first year I signed up as an AFL silver member in 2014 I was able to get a ticket to see Hawthorn and Sydney in the Grand Final. A middling Victorian side against interstate opposition and you should be right.

Essentially, this year if Richmond lose there is a very good chance of getting a ticket as a non-competing silver member.

A lot of this info in in https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/afl-silver-membership-waitlist-number.790763/page-97

Last year there were 'extremely limited' tickets for competing club silver but from memory no one on here got one, and definitely none for non competing silver. It would be nice if each years info was consolidated into a single post. I might do it if I'm feeling bored this week.

I would assume in the Grand finals 2008-2011 with all vic finalists, that AFL silver members non-competing did not get in.

From memory and a bit of twitter searching:
2012: Syd vs Hawks: Silver members non competing were able to buy tickets
2013: Hawks vs Freo: Only Silver competing were able to buy tickets
2014: Hawks vs Syd: Silver members non-competing were able to buy tickets
2015: Hawks vs WC: Only silver competing were able to buy tickets
2016: WB vs Syd: Only silver competing were able to buy tickets (very few).

I would say if Richmond make it this year it will not get past gold.
