Starting to test depth now,

Train on players Dankert and Caruso added to the squad.

Amelia Peck and Shelby Knoll are both unavailable for selection after suffering respective thigh and knee injuries at training this week.

Danckert played seven AFLW games for Gold Coast across two years before she was delisted in March.

The 26-year-old spent the winter playing for Casey at VFLW level, where she averaged 18 disposals across the campaign, including a dominant end to the season where she recorded a combined 73 disposals and 27 tackles in her final three matches.

Twenty-three-year-old Caruso was a pivotal member of Port Melbourne's premiership-winning VFLW side.

The midfielder was unanimously voted the winner of the Lisa Hardeman Medal for best on ground in the Grand Final, and was also crowned as the Club's Best and Fairest winner for 2023.

All 21 SUNS players who featured against the Crows in Round 5 have been named. SUNS Academy graduates Alana Gee and Darcie Davies, who were both rested last weekend, are in contention to return while Tasmanian product Elise Barwick is also included on an extended bench.

Glad Lauren Caruso is in contention as a Train-on. She is more than handy and will slot in OK. Said back in the VFL final series we ought to be looking hard at her as she is better than some on our actual list.

If Seymour is out as #Cdog71 has posted, we have an uphill battle today.

Just guessing but maybe they’re looking to release Yassir more with Dankart coming in.
Looks like a HF/Mid..?

She played against us with GC last year HF kicked a goal and laid 7 tackles

Hope Yassir doesn’t get steamrolled by Rowbottom.😏
She’s a beast.

Rowbottom is that. We'd start with McDonald going to her though you'd think. May not have the speed to go with though.

I meant just the way Yassir takes on anyone for a tackle and Rowbottom is large

Bit of a write up on Dempsey
It is good to see her in the game more. Don’t want to be pessimistic but with her getting the ball more it does show that so far this season we aren’t going thru the oppo and corridor as much as last year we’re looking to go around em.
Last year we were #1 for scoring efficiency going forward…we do seem to be getting more shots at goal per game, but all scoring has gone up this year.
Hope we can grind out a win today.

I think that we’re searching for good ball users as we transition , she’s one of them

Yep, Lavey started this. She new the importance of holding her width just from her experience in the top level basketball. I have no doubt the coaches knew it, but really struggled with mixed messages until Lavey showed them what it means and how it's advantage is two-fold. Defensive pressure and outlet. How often we would break down through half back to centre/wing. Now we have transition plays.

because renovation "could" start during the season so we didn't want to be fixtured or something (idk)
