ok im not one that likes to be here after a lose let a lone posting, but i think its just about game over for aker, dont get me wrong been a fan of his and wanted him to play on, and yes i do think if he turns it around i for one would love to see him finish off with a premirship but he just looks too slow.

he did nothing tonight and with murphy Johno and Ward all coming back soon i cant see room for him. i already cant see how we can play johno aker and eagleton in the same side.

thoughts?

Acker is the type of player who can turn it around very fast and often does. Do not be surprised if next game he tears the game apart. The only thing that may cause him imo to miss is if the club gives him a suspension for the issues which has arisen about the article of late.

You can understand how a guy doesnt perform when he gets smashed from every direction like Aker did the last fortnight. Others in the siode have no excuses.

Aker was far from our worst tonight. He didn't get loads of touches, but he barely wasted a single one. Unlike many others. (Higgins, Cooney, Boyd I'm looking at you)

agree 100% and i haven't started this on the back of tonights game, but looking forward where does Aker fit in? i can see a role for Eagle and Johno but Aker...... i dunno

just of the top of my head when fit, Eagleton Ward Everitt Johno Wood Reid Moles Murphy all could come in to it.

but its Aker and we all know what he can do and if he is in the team next week we all hope that he can turn things around.

Why aker?

We should be getting rid of Addison. Why the hell is he even being played, has no talent whatsoever and as shown tonight, he gets bumped off the ball easily, even by little guys like Jetta.

Aker wasn't spectacular but he won't get dropped. Even Higgins and Griffen deserve it more. They were disgusting.

Mate Brian lakes goal towards the end of the game was because of aker! His a good player man I use to dread when collingwood would face him

rediculous to say Griffen to be dropped! He was in out best 3, Aker has to go, has not been good all year, the last week just adds to it. Higgins is injured I reckon, he showed a bit in the last but so would I when the games over. I love Higgins but? Why is Everitt out of the side, he's been good all year, Ins - Everitt, Moles and Roughead Out - Minson, Aker and Addison. Keep Higgins if fit, otherwise rest (not dropped)

Griffen? Sorry, I was at the game and he looked dreadful. While he hit a few targets and was one of our better kickers, he did too many things wrong and made bad descisions, like the rest of the team.

The game has passed him by I'm afraid. Did some good things with the ball tonight but he simply can't get enough of it nowadays and opposition players just run away from him. From what I've seen so far this year he simply isn't going to be in our best 22 once/if we get some players back from injury.

It always seems like the more he's involved in the media, the worse he plays. Maybe his head just isn't in the right place at the moment.

We want him around come finals because thats when he steps it up, is going to be more valuable in September. The problem is he struggling at the moment and we some how need to get him through to September. If that means a rest then so be it.

Many years ago, my Physics lecturer told us: Confucius say "Man with mouth open learns nothing". Well Acker had his mouth wide open in Brisbane and departed with no friends. Now Acker has mouth wide open again - how many friends left in Melbourne?

Resting won't make him any quicker or add any distance to his kicks. Time to face reality. One season too many.

I reckon he will have a week off, but i refuse to right him off yet. He didn't waste the ball tonight, just looks a little slow, but can deffinately fill a forward pocket and kick 4 in some games. Our forward structure is all wrong. He shouldnt play up the ground anymore. When Johnno comes back this will benefit Aker immensly. Due for a rest though.
