Aker kicked 45 goals in the 2004 season, I'll go with AkerAs much as it pains me to say it because he was a diving bitch on the field, Wanganeen gets my vote. Aker was a better kick on both sides of his body, but Gavin was better overhead and could play anywhere. I can recall Mark Williams saying he was the best forward pocket on their list but they needed to use him elsewhere.
Wanganeen kicked 41 goals in one season.

Any one who thinks Acker is a better footballer than Wanganeen has an extra 21st chromosome.
Turn it up mate. Wanganeen was a champ. Fearless, courageous and a leader but he doesn't hold a candle to the sheer brilliance of Aker.
I think one thing you fail to realise is that we should consider both at the peak of their careers which Aker is far from currently.
When was Wanganeen's peak, 1993 when he won the brownlow or 2003 when he was runner up in the brownlow? Admittedly he had some injuries in between, but that stat alone would suggest that Wanganeen was a superior player over a longer period of time.
In between those years he was a handy player and nothing more. Akers best was far better and seen far more often. You can take Wangas 12 possie games and free kick diving though if that's your preference.
