Dont know, if you had the money would think you would list rookies, most other teams have rookies.
Yeah, most other teams do, I agree. We're picking 16th on the rookie list this year, in each round, and if trading period goes OK we have good depth in all positions.

And re football department spending, why are you cutting back on that?
No idea. Maybe its an excuse to get rid of a coach. And if its just Caro saying so, I'll take that with a grain of salt. Her contacts in Melbourne are fine, but whats she got in Adelaide?

Don't forget that Scott called for the sacking of the coach and the Board. So the answer to your question is "yes".

and you think that would be the first time in history that a sponsor asking for a sacking? or getting involved in club buisness? you think it will be the last? or a comment like that was made in public? it would have taken a far smarter man then williams to just cop it on the chin, and prove him wrong and keep his mouth shut in public.

behind close doors i have no problems with him having it out, but in public is just silly.

If you are hit with injuries rookies can come in handy and you just never know how they might come on, definitely kids out there worth the punt ..

Apparently you are not replacing Clarkson she says and as such are reducing football department spending ...

Choco had every right to say it. Scott attacked him in public, so Williams did the same thing back.
All it shows is that Choco is just as ferrel. He is coach of the right club!

Thing is that for the most part you never know how they might come on until they play at AFL level.

AFL opportunities are already limited under Choco (who pretty much sticks with the same guys unless there's injury), and we've certainly not had value out of the rookie list in the past except when converting athletes between codes (French and Brogan). We've got actual draftees that need a go before we use rookies.

I guess we'll see. Don't hold much faith in Caro's accuracy.

Do you honestly expect that the premiership team in the largest, most supported sporting league in the entire country, is going to have trouble finding a sponsor?

Alan Scott has so much money it doesn't matter where it goes. In fact, it took him years to realise that his own accountant thieved $22 million off the books.

do you think they will pay the same price? do you think they won't be relectunt? if port were so ********ed off at scotts comment they would have pulled the pin and i will be guessing it will go vice-versa with scott, i am just saying its not smart to publicly have a go at a sponsor that is paying your wages, and keeping your club afloat.

Let's just get this straight once and for all. Alan Scott will not choose our Board. Alan Scott will not choose our Coach. If the price of his sponsorship is that he runs the club, then so long Alan.

When Mark Williams made those comments I remembered why I was barracking for Brisbane. He is so arrogant.

Strangely, Choco didn't have a go at vodafone. Maybe its because they didn't use the media to bag him and the board while claiming to support the club.

If you don't tease the animals, they won't bite.

Any publicity is good publicity?

From a business/sponsor point of view, Chocco put Alan Scott's name in front of 1.2 million viewers, plus all the continued media discussion. I'd say that's pretty good value for money from a sponsor point of view.

Typical, classic, straight talking Chocco. And it needed to be said!!

Well done Chocco, great stuff. I'm sick of these rich fat ********s who think they can say what the hell they like about clubs just because they put a bunch of money into 'em. You don't publicly bag your coach if you think you're doing the right thing for the club. I have enormous respect for Williams after this weekend.

What a load of rubbish. Of course they have a right to comment on how the club is performing. If you put that much money into a company, wouldn't you want a say in how it runs ?

Or do you think an AFL club runs on hopes and dreams alone?

There is a difference between talking to the club about how you'd like them to do things, and actively coming out in the media to have a go at them.

As opposed to you, who can't even spell the word. F-E-R-A-L.

Actually, perhaps we are ferals after all. Ferals are creatures who have been held captive for a time, but then break their bonds and head off into the the open spaces.

We have been kind of captives of the choker tag for a few years, kept in check by a big fat gorilla with a nasty temper. But now, my friend, the bonds have been broken, and we are off to live in the sunshine of Premiership Land.

btw - does your username mean "in my balls"?

Maybe some of you will find this interesting. Do you know how much this flag is worth to the Port Adelaide footy club in terms of earnings, sponsorship, marketing etc etc??? $5.5 million. You read that correctly. $5.5 million. That fact is straight from the AFL and the club.

Also Nike and Vodafone have come out today and said thet they would up their sponsorship dollar if Scott decided to pull his dough out.

I still think the quote of the day was at Punt Rd after the match when Tredders came out with a beauty - "The only choking we will be doing from now on is if this (pointing to medal) get's a little too tight."

GOLD!!!

The sponsor can have a say in it but not make ridiculously big and public statements like the one this clown Scott has. Besides, I think Williams has quite effectively shown just how much this moron's opinion is worth.

There were some great speeches at Punt road. Choppy was quite funny.

Scott's original comments were childish and lacked class.

Williams' comments were childish and attention-seeking and lacked class.

The end result is that the PAFC looks childish and low class for airing its dirty linnen in public.

The full focus of Williams' speech should have been on Port's achievement in winning it's first AFL flag, rather than the coach using it as an opportunity to square up on the basis that "he started it".
