Not really. The top 4 sides pick 2 genuine rucks when everybody is fit (yes, counting Tippett and Sinclair, both average close to 20 hitouts).Picking 2 ruckmen is unrealistic to what a team would pick, 3 is going too far it's the best side not best 22 players.






The selectors were out of control back in the early days. One of my favourite selections ever was Paul Roos named at full back (and captain) in 1992 despite him not going anywhere near full back or picking up an opponent all year. He played loose across half back and centre (like Chad Cornes) and racked up a career best 539 possessions.
