Palmer is going in very hard and is everywhere for the Giants, top game so far. Still comfortable with getting Crozier for him but i wish him the best

No sauce, just my opinion.

I'll stand by it and I don't expect him to play all games this year.

In the rooms, Rhys would have big ice packs on his knees after every game, but Adam Cooney has dodgy knees and he won a brownlow. Still, I don't think we'll see the best of either of them, it's cruel.

At St Kilda Lyon was almost a specialist at getting the most out of players within their limitations. Players with ordinary disposal had that minimised in their repertoire. Palmer could easily be in the mix if he was still with us, and last year we badly needed a player in and under dishing out the ball to better users of the pill. It is gobsmackingly ordinary that we elected to use Pavlich instead. Palmer in-form in the midfield and Broughton in the backline makes us a better side.

Based on what Palmer was showed us last year, you would have a better case in arguing he should have been dropped, than increasing his time on the ball.

Why was Fyfe in the middle? Even Pavlich had low disposal efficiency while in the middle.

Palmer wasn't played in the middle because Harvey knew he was going.

Because Fyfe is a better player in every single facet of the game? Palmer was a burden to the side, if guys like Hinkley and Schammer had of been any better, he would of been battling it out for a spot.

He wasn't up to standard, plain and simple.

I don't doubt that Palmer can be a good player, I think he will be for GWS, but based purely on his output last year, you can't honestly think he should be playing on ball ahead of the guys who did.

BTW

Anyone else find it odd to see Programmed Integrated Workforce plastered all over the GWS v SYD game? Here I was thinking they sponsored us...

Believe Skoda is GWS main sponsor and Programmed is ours, but just seems Programmed got some good airtime for minor.

I think he certainly should have been played on the ball ahead of Pavlich. I don't think his ball use is any much worse than Fyfe's.

The game is won and lost in the midfield. Pavlich is a better midfielder than Palmer. Fyfe is miles ahead with his kicking than Palmer, it's not even close.

It is pretty close actually. I love Fyfe, but he is king of the floater. His disposal efficiency is often down around 50-60%.

Pavlich is also a better forward Palmer, more than he is a better mid. Oddly, Palmer played as a forward.

The game may well be won and lost in the middle, but with Pavlich in the middle we still lost that battle, while also conceding our forward line. Not surprising that we lost most games.

Anyway, Palmer's now playing under two premiership coaches and is looking as good as he ever has. He made the right choice, he would have been finished under a poor coach like Harvey.

Why keep doing it Dr Ralph? Why??

Of course Palmer will look better in a weaker side, it won't in any way relate to his performance at Fremantle.
I just can't let the past go.

Yeah it will. Reggie, I'm not sure if you noticed but when you play footy you get your possessions against the opposition.

As Palmer showed on Sat night, that when played in the midfield he is pretty ahdny player.

Yeah, ok, Palmer looked handy in a very mediocre side. But, as has already been discussed elsewhere, he wasn't particularly influential on the game. In our current team he'd be a handy depth player.

There are far too many other variables to use Palmer's performance at GWS to prove a point about Harvey's coaching.
