Andrew Walker OR play a man down

Given that you don't seem to have anything to say in defence of Walker, I'll assume you voted for 'play a man down'

I will give your retort 10/10 for originality and relevance though. I've never heard the one about 63 before that was a good one.
No need to defend Walker as I am well aware of what he is capable of. Apart from Hird, He also gave Macleod and Akermanis a touch up last year as well:rolleyes:
The fact you posted a thread stating that playing 17 men in todays modern game would be better off shows you know very little!!
Why don't you stick to your own backyard with recruiting disasters like Tenace and Varcoe, before taking pot shots at others:thumbsd:
And for the record I didn't vote on your pathetic attempt of a poll!!

The bottome line is that Carlton's highlight to their 2006 season was beating Melbourne twice. Melbourne's highlight was winning a final.

Enough said really, only a moron can't figure it out from there.

Actually I had no highlights last year, in fact I haven't had a highlight since the last Saturday in September 1995. I don't get excited about almost being good enough. I don't think many Carlton people do. On the other hand you calling winning a final as a highlight just confirms that the Melbourne Football Club isn't about winning premierships, just being almost good enough. What do the Collingwood supporters regularly say? "At least we were there."

1. you just did defend him

2. a number of cats supporters say tenace cant kick and lacks a football brain. which the same can be said of walker.

3. walker just cant hit a target stop defending him when you know it is true.

4. say whatever you like about mclean. but you sound pretty stupid when you say he is a scragger or parrot who somehow knows he has reached his full potential in less than 50 games at age 20. most of the elite players in the comp are not playing in the pre-season mclean is one of them

Not only did he touch up Hird, but also Akermanis and McLeod:eek:

Wow, those guys are 34, 30, and 31 respectively, so good on Andrew Walker for being able to keep up with them around the park I say.

You have just proved how little you know about the game my silly friend. Walker is an athlete, I have stated that numerous times. Hence, as a tagger he is more than capable of running with opposition midfielders...

My point however is that he is not a player within his own right because he cannot actually kick the ball himself. Whenever he does, he gets it straight back to whoever he is tagging and undoes all his previous work. This is why it is better to play a man down.... do you understand?

BTW Tenace was pick 7 in the same draft that Walker went pick 2... I think we know which selection has been more dissapointing.

Good to see 'playing a man down' is still polling strongly. There must be a reasonable number of objective supporters viewing this thread.

You've got to take highlights out of each season, if you can. Are you telling me if this season the Blues not only made finals but won a couple, this would not be a highlight for Blues fans? WTF

Not too sure about that

Reckon there are a lot of people who are throwing their support behind you because they like to support the little Aussie battler.

It’s a fair effort that someone who has an intellectual disability like yourself has got on-line and posted a poll on big footy.

Keep up the good work little man and don’t listen to anyone that wants to put you down.

PS: Say hello to Healy for me.

 Wow you are one serious bastard! So you've exoperienced what, say 2 or 3 highlights in your entire life as a football supporter? I suppose it depends on how old you are. Perhaps you should try to percieve the complexities of our game, such as sentimental farewells to champion players, exciting debuts of promising youngsters, come from behind wins against arch-rivals, underdog victories etc etc. It might provide you with more stimulation than living in robot-land.

BTW you have completely misunderstood the definition of the term highlight... it is an occasion that is viewed as the most enjoyable relative to all other occasions. So even though Carlton's highest moment in 2006 was beating the same team twice, it is still their HIGHLIGHT, as nothing else came close for the season.

Think before you write.

Your insult is not even remotely clever.

It reminds me of the days when kids in early primary schools used to call each other ******s or *******s...

How about you try again and endeavour to make it a little more creative next time, rather than resorting to a potentially very sensitive issue that has nothing whatsoever to do with football.

You got me all wrong tiger. It's a great poll. Very clever and oh so witty. I am not trying to put you down but support your fantastic effort.

I look forward to your next.

it's just that they are taking thier final chances at having a dig at Carlton.

It's going to be a long time (decades) before you all get a chance to have another crack at Carlton, so you're making the most of these final moments.

We understand and we aren't angry. We do pity you though.

Nonetheless, we are also ruthless and you can expect us to retaliate with 10 times the power that you inflicted on us.

It's hardly clever at all, I'm disappointed you can't see that. I deliberately made it very basic so the Carlton supporters would understand it.

But I appreciate your sentiments nonetheless.

When did I ever mention McLean??
Get your facts right before posting next time eh:mad:

Will Geelong be introducing "Stage 5 Flag Restrictions" any time soon to battle your Premiership Drought?

You Potato Farmers should find something you're actually good at.....:thumbsu:

So I know little about the game yet you think Walker has been more dissapointing than Tenace:o
Keep trolling tosser:p

The first Blues supporter on this thread with anything clever to say, the vast majority of the Geelong football club as far as I'm aware do not farm potatos

Of course he has because becasue much more was expected of him than Tenace. Do you understand the concept of relativity? Tenace was pick 7, and has failed to come on. Walker was pick 2 and failed to come on. Which is more dissapointing? Think about it for a while before you respond.

Pick number 2 and failed to come on after playing nearly every game in the last 2 years and yet still 21 years of age?? hmmm:rolleyes:

You really need to do some research.

Come the 2003 draft. Cooney was the clear number one. While Walker, Sylvia, Bradley, Tenance were all thought to be a chance of being the 2nd pick.

Leading up to the draft Tenace was considered by many as the 2nd best kid.

In the lead up to the National AFL Draft camp, the No.2 selection was still up for grabs, although it was widely regarded that Murray Bushrangers midfielder Kane Tenace could be the one to be snaffled by the Blues. However, after being named All-Australian and Vic Country’s best player in the National AFL under 18 championships, as well as capping off a fine year with some scintillating performances at the National AFL Draft camp, the Blues have no doubt that Walker is their man.

Think about it for a while before you respond.

Can i ask why so many people on this site love bagging this player. If you are gonna bag Walker you can certainly go around every club in the league and pick players out, for example Gasper at Richmond. I f your gonna waste your time starting crap threads like this one up, your wasting alot of peoples time here, so either find a job or get to school.

The little excerpt you just provided me demostrates exactly why Walker is more disappointing. Despite the fact that prior to the draft, no. 2 was largely undecided is completely irrelevant. As you so kindly demostrated, Walker was deemed in the latter stages of the year to be the superior player, that's exactly why the Blues took him at number 2. The fact that the ensuing 4 choices also overlooked Tenace goes to show that he was most definately not regarded in the same esteem as the earlier choices. Hence, his failure to come on as a promising young player is less disappointing than Walker's. It is also less disappointing from the perspective that Geelong used pick 7, whilst Carlton had to use pick 2. I think it is fairly clear which Club got less bang for their buck, particularly considering that the Blues could have Brock McLean.

Probably because he is held in such high regard at Carlton. Yes they have lots of good young players coming through, no he is not one of them.
