Give the kid a break, he's hardly surrounded by a mass of leadership talent and help on the field. He's a quality player and has already shown what he is capable of, now just a matter of some consistency and confidence. Not unusual for a player to suffer from second year blues due to fitness, growth issues and body changes from the training.

Give the kid a break, he's hardly surrounded by a mass of leadership talent and help on the field. He's a quality player and has already shown what he is capable of, now just a matter of some consistency and confidence. Not unusual for a player to suffer from second year blues due to fitness, growth issues and body changes from the training.

He cannot kick to save his life.

He's not a dud, just lacking support on and off the field.

Shouldn't be used as a tagger but when he's not, he struggles because he doesn't yet have the body strength to win his own ball.

He'll be good but needs more time. A decent skills coach and an off-season in the gym and he'll start to have an impact.

One of the few Carlton players I'd trade for.

No player would be allowed to play with a fractured back. As for the softness aspect, I am more than happy that we kicked your soft arses twice this year.

I'm also more than happy with our younger players. Reilly is injured BTW, hamstring strain otherwise he'd be in the starting 22.

I agree that Carlton fans may be a little dissapointed given that he was the No.2 pick but I'll give him until at least this time next year before passing any judgement. How many said Hodge was a complete dud before this year? Personally I hope Walker doesn't become a star (at Carlton anyway) but with 40 odd blokes on every list I'm sure we can find so older guys to put the sword to.

Hodge actually did some useful things and showed what he could do in later years. In fact, I didnt see the coach try and tag him when he had absolutely no clue what to do by himself....
