Congrats to Jaeger, what a freaking amazing player he is.

Watching him on AFL 360 tonight (yay for house sitting a place with fox) he is an astonishingly grounded bloke for how young he is. I know it's all pie in the sky stuff now as he sounds quite settled on the Gold Coast, but geeeeeez I would give up a shitload if we ever had the chance to get him.

Yeah, spot on. A top side is built on a midfield and there's is looking elite all over. It's just a case of maturing their bodies and keeping their minds in the game - which doesn't look that hard with players like JOM there.

AFL are going to be pleased as punch and the rest of the league will be wondering how they let this happen.

I reckon Prestia is a bit of a gun too, it's going to be a massive luxury for them when their midfield is good enough to allow Gaz to spend significant chunks up forward again.

Hes a captain in the making. Well composed and certainly a skilled player his teammates can look up to.

This #1 draft pick seems to fall off the shelf when talking about the others, doesn't he?

The way trades have gone this year, I wouldn't be surprised if Swallow and the Suns' first pick go to GWS for pick #1.

Hes been injured for majority of the past two seasons and ha sbeen squeezed out of the midfield by Ablett, Prestia, JOM, Bennell etc.

He will be a gun when his body allows it and he moves back into the midfield.

Maybe I'm missing something but I just don't see anything about him that lives up to his billing pre-draft. O'Meara you straight away went wow, Swallow not so much. His kicking is so ordinary for a number 1 pick.

His kicking is an issue for sure.
He "will" be a better version of his brother IMO, hes a damn fine footballer. Average captain but an excellent player.

Interesting debate to be had in about five years when he has technically been a Gold Coast player for 7 years even though the first was as a development player.
