With Nathan Buckley now on the Pies long-term injury list, young rookie listed player Ben Davies has been promoted onto the senior list for the unlucky skipper.

Young onballer Ben Davies has been promoted to the Senior list, as injured skipper Nathan Buckley goes on to the long-term injury list following his radical surgery overnight to repair his hamstring problem.

Davies, a quick neat rover, averaged 23 possessions last season in the TAC cup for the Western Jets. He stands at 187cm and weighs in at 81kg - a lightish frame but plenty to work on as he attempts to stake a claim for a spot in the Magpies' senior line-up in the coming weeks.

At this stage, Buckley is likely to miss between 8-10 weeks.

he won't now be a consideration for the seniors any time soon would he? i mean he was the coach of the tennis team last year at my school, not the footy team!

He was also racking up 23 possessions a game for the Western Jets.

187cm and 81kg is a pretty good size for a midfielder. In comparison to the man he is replacing, he is 1cm taller and 10kgs lighter. Doubt he'll get a run, but who knows.
