Thanks so much for these updates.

I live overseas now and posts like yours make me feel closer to everything I call home :)

p.s. There is speculation that Degoey re-injured himself. Did he finish training albeit at 50%?
There was speculation a few days ago that he had re-injured himself. Today he did most of the session and left earlier than his training buddies Reid and Aish.

Mihocek had quite a long conversation with Mihocek during the warm up.
Did it freak people out? Good thing we’ve upped our mental health support infrastructure since the Mayne debacle.

Mihocek had quite a long conversation with Mihocek during the warm up. It's pure speculation it was about the basketball fiasco, but I reported it because I hope it was Brody taking a leadership role with Sier. I've been a big Sier fan over the last few years, but this year he has been a great disappointment. I hope this is a turning point and that he starts using his brain.
Sometimes talking to ones self is the only way to have a decent intelligent conversation.

I like that Mihocek has had words with Sier. I’d imagine that he’d be telling him he would have killed to have been drafted that early and to not waste his opportunity.

He be the Perfect Role Model for Sier because of his work he had to do to get into the AFL

Training Update: Thursday Aug 15, 2019
Weather:

Sunny, cold and breezy. 11 on arrival at 10am.
Not spotted:
Isaac Quaynor - you'd think he's done for the year. Can't see the club risking too many underdone players come finals.
Player Watch:
Darcy Moore
– did full training and looked to be in terrific nick. Reckon he is right to play. I wouldn't take him to Adelaide, but he does look right to play. Took a lovely pack mark over Roughead in the match sim.
Jordan DeGoey – Ran laps and didn't take part in any drills or the match play. Suspect all of the reports about him not playing until finals are probably correct. Did not do anything at full pace. My guess is everything today was at about 50%.
Brayden Sier – Did full session. Looks right to go unless Walshy's tongue lashing has added to his woes. Walshy looked his usual angry self.
James Aish - Looked pretty good today. Did the training with DeGoey and Reid.
Daniel Wells – Did full training and even participated in the match sim. Looks like he's been in the good paddock though. I can't see him playing to be perfectly honest. Would we risk him in week 1 of finals with Moore, DeGoey, Aish and Stevo?
Jaidyn Stephenson – outstanding today. Tried a few torps from the centre square. One bounced in the square and hit the post. One bounced through. He's jumping out of his skin.
Ben Reid – did the same training as DeGoey and Aish. I reckon he could play finals if needed, but we would have to be going really badly to risk him.
Other Observations:
•Lynden Dunn was on the track doing some walking and then went inside. I'd like him and Langdon to be out there, but Bucks's Curse had returned with a vengeance.
•Roughead and Walsh were both doing ruck drills when I left at about 11:30.
•Noble trained well. This boy has a seriously good boot on him for his size. Must be in contention this week.
•Does Treloar have a niggle? Left the main group to speak with a trainer and then did some private work. Returned to training.
•Brody Mihocek had a long chat with Sier during the warm up. I would like to have heard that conversation. It seemed to be pretty much a one way conversation.

Happy to answer any questions.

Any Broomhead action Apples?

Any Broomhead action Apples?
Broomhead did the full session. I was standing with Jen throughout and we were both a little surprised Broomy was out there training well, considering he disappeared from the field in the VFL last week. I suspect next week's game v Box Hill will be Broomy's last in black and white.

Daniel Wells – Looks like he's been in the good paddock though.

16 years into his AFL career, 3 years into his 600k a year, 5 game a year contract with Collingwood and Daniel Wells still manages to somehow be overweight. Bloke is the eight wonder of the world. Or maybe he ate the eight wonder of the world...

Training – Wednesday Aug 21st 2019
Cold with passing showers. Sunny patches. 12º

Not Training
Quaynor
Limited Training
De Goey, Reid
Player Watch
Jordan De Goey
– did a lot of the drills but didn’t take part in any match simulation. No chance this week.
Darcy Moore – did everything asked of him. Was ready to go last week. A very good thing for this week.
James Aish - did all of the drills and the match play. Looks ready to me. They will probably wait until finals and it will be a needs basis I’d think.
Daniel Wells - one of the last onto the track, but did all the work and played in the match sim. Had a few touches and all were quality. Can’t see him getting a game though.
Ben Reid – one of the first onto the track and immediately began running laps. Did the drills but when match play started he moved to modified training with De Goey.
Brayden Sier – did full training and moved unhindered. Wills has his spot and Brayden is going to have to bang the door down to get it back. Either that or Bucks’s injury curse continues and he gets a game by default.

There were two 100m sprints and they were hotly contested. Howe won the first one and was very pleased with himself. The second was almost a dead-heat between Stevo and Darcy.

Match Play:
Roughead went to full forward and played against Keane. Keane showed a bit and was able to run off him. In marking duels it was no contest. Roughie easily took contested marks and slotted a nice goal. From one of them.
At the other end of the ground, Moore played full back and moved well.
Adam Treloar had plenty of the ball and used it well. This Pie is on fire.
After the match play Varcoe and Wells came over the Glasshouse side and did kick to kick.

I dare not say it, but the list is looking pretty good right now; especially with Darcy Moore fit for the finals.

I’ll try to answer any questions.

Thanks Apples. Jen mentioned on Twitter that Keane went off with medicos. Any idea what that was about?

Hm....I suspect Wells plays if his body is ok.

I mean, he's retiring, if not now, then it's never really. If his body is going ot break down again, better this week than the first final.
Or his body can break down in the VFL?

Yep, but if the plan is to prefer him playing in finals, why not put him through senior football asap? If he gets through then he should be golden for finals. If he breaks down Friday night, then at least you didn't worry about it happening in a final.

It would be nice to win Friday night though.

I'm not sure why everyone around here is just taking Friday night for granted.

We always (well last year excepted) seem to lose the last game of the home and away.

Never take any game for granted, but watching Essendon the last few weeks, you'd reckon they are cooked. If we can't beat them on Friday, we might as well give up now.
I can't see Wells playing this week. Wasn't the plan always to play him VFL then see how he pulls up? Too big a risk to play De Goey, Moore, Stevo, Aish as well as Wells. Too many underdone players is asking for it once finals roll around.

Who will he replace?

I'm not speaking to the result on Friday night.

I'm just speaking generally in relation to Wells and the best time to "risk" him. I would have thought that the final match of Home and Away is better than the first final no?
