As for the OP - surely it's a little early in the season for strategic list management? Carlton have just lost to Adelaide (?), and our season may yet turn around.

Toovey does a job and O'Bree is our best in and under player and midfield tackler. Rocca is not playing. I'm not sure about Leigh Brown but if he's ever going to get a game you'd think it'd be when the forward line is out.

Gold Coast have 0 picks in the National Draft this year. They couldn't be drafting guys ahead of other clubs when they don't come into the competition until 2011.

The draft is "compromised" (although I don't like that term) because there's no "bottom-aged" players in it, because they've pushed the draft age back by 4 months, meaning that every player in the draft now has to turn 18 by December 31st in the year of the draft.

This probably amounts to about a dozen or so players that would have been taken in the National Draft are no longer eligible for this year's draft, and the Gold Coast have access to 12 of these bottom-aged players that agree to sign with them.

This makes more sense than them having draft picks, because these guys would be ineligible to play in the AFL next year anyway, so them signing with the Gold Coast doesn't rob them of the opportunity to play AFL footy in 2010 like a player who is draft eligible being taken by them, if they were to have National Draft picks.

WCE have beaten Port Adelaide, Western Bulldogs and Melbourne at Subi this year. Two of those sides are in the Eight, above us and one of them was involved in one of the games of the year on Friday night.

A little credit. Scoreline was close because of two cheap Eagles goals at the end.

Last night was a great result by any benchmark. Stop writing crap for the sake of it and congratulate the group of people who behind last nights very positive result and performance.
