How quick is Armfield when he's running someone down?

He could be our Swallow who was a quick onballer drafted out of WA, but I expect he will play in defence from round one.

Judd and Armfield for Kennedy, Masten and Notte looks sweet ATM.

That's the first time I've seen Chris Yarran(#13) who is in the Steven Browne video.

He looks every bit as talented as the hearsay about him being a top pick in next year's draft when he lead out to mark Browne's kick.

This guy looks the goods to play next year. With a little more weight on his frame he should become an awesome acquisition so low in the draft. Like Simmo of 02. Would like to see his work around the stoppages and see what his hands are like in that sort of pressure but watching his chase on the ball and his tackling is enough to say he has a desire to play and succeed. When he chased along the wing to finally catch a player I was very impressed. His tackling is great.

It's just a highlights package but you can't help getting excited about some of the stuff he did in that video. If you were told he was a first rounder and then shown that video without any other background info would you argue? Plays like a bigger, quicker, midfield version of Eddie Betts.

I have to say I think we will look back on this draft and think that 36 and 46 were inspired choices. I nearly spat my breakfast out when Hughesy read out Armfield, was a huge surprise but a pleasant one.

All I can say is WOW.

His closing speed and willingness to chase are clearly visible in that 2 minute package. That last highlight where he was almost 1 on to 3, and ended up chasing down that 3rd player was amazing.

Also, when he got the ball on the wing, dished off, and then a few posessions later, he took the mark in the FP.

Great work ethic as well. Could very well prove to be a very very inspired choice.

Yeah that 1 on 3 effort on the wing was a real standout for me too.

Seems to be the junkyard dog............just at it and at it until he's got what he wants.

Tackles stick, and looks quickish.

Skills? Couldn't really tell too much, but work ethic looks good.

Look, I see what you are saying, but kicking at goals, don't worry about him, especially on the run. Field kicking will be OK once he learns to slow down and not try to kick the ball running at full tilt, after all there is only one person that can do that, and you have him now.
