I think the Hawks are a fantastic football side and believe they will win achieve the three peat.

What I don't understand or like about Hawthorn is their arrogance. Little cheap shots and sledging are a consistent part of their approach. Mitchell's injection taunts today were a prime example of their attitude. The media are calling it "unsocialable football" but it is more than that. They have been the most arrogant club for a long time and it is embraced and reflected by their supporters.

Collingwood are the opposite. We go in hard but we respect our opposition. We don't resort to cheap insults to gain an advantage. That win in the 2011 PF was one of the most satisfying football experiences of my life because we shoved their sense of entitlement back down their throats. We will probably lose on Friday but the day is coming when we will go past them and I for one intend to enjoy every minute of it!

Other teams have been successful but don't carry on like them. It is a part of their culture and it stems from the coach.
 
Hawks supporters are the worst. Most arrogant flogs in football. They are the Only supporters who will always wave you off when you're losing.

**** I hope Collingwood supporters give it to Hawks supporters if the hawks lose.

I wasn't alive in the 70s and 80s but the way the Hawks & their supporters act now is how I imagine Carlton were back then.

Meh. I hope we treat them with grace when we're defeating them by 60 points every year by 2018. No point lowering ourselves to their level.

They where bloody Annoying when they where at Vic Park before there AFL Game.
 
I like the fact we are a blue collar team and don't pretend to be anything other.

Hawthorn are a mob who think they are superior and nothing will please me more than them blowing the 3peat this year...

Oh well maybe being part of their demise would be better.

As for Mitchell's antics clearly not his finest moment and sure to endear him and his team even more to opposition supporters.

I did admire them a few years back but now they have planted themselves as my most hated team for sure.

Truth is their bandwagon has been rolling for a while.

Sorry Jmac but I really rate the Hawks......I actually can remember a bit of arrogance and swagger in 2011 also (didn't end well :cry:)

I think it comes when you are better than every one else. To be the best you need to have it!
 
I agree with the OP. "Unsociable" my ar*e, they are mean spirited thugs that will always throw a knee or elbow. Yes, it comes from the coach, a very angry man by most accounts. As a player he performed the ultimate dog act.

I like a tough game but expect respect and fairness in every contest.

Agree they are Thugs and That is worry about next week.

Hope Mitchell does not try that Corky Thing he did to Tex Walker against us
 
Sam Mitchell gave us a glimpse into what the AFL footballers actually thing about the Essendon supplements saga.
The players involved have been given an armchair ride by the media. But the facts are that the players signed a piece of paper absolving the club from any duty of care.
Why did they do this? Did they think that they were taking placebos? Not likely,
But they certainty bought into the "whatever it takes" mantra that was around at that time.
And of course Jobe won a Brownlow in the year the "supplements" we're administered. Then he goes on TV and admits to being administers with a substance that was banned.
Not a whisper on at lingering stain from the media.

Here I was thinking Collingwood and Hawthorn supporters had some mutual respect for each other... Those that dislike our arrogance only need to look to the Melb merger days where our club was on its knees, the turn around has been beyond anything any of us could have expected.

Our club was a complete minnow off the field, useless in terms of administration. To go from a debt ridden rabble to a corporate beast is something we are proud about, maybe there is some arrogance due to our success but we've come from the lowest of lows.

As far as Collingwood - never had an issue with your club, it's supporters or anyone on BF.. To be honest you guys are generally some of the better posters.

Friday night will be brilliant, expecting a tough game and either way just hope for no injuries and a huge crowd.
 
I thought the Mitchell thing was great. I guess I dislike Essendon more than the Hawks.

Hawks have been so successful they can do whatever they want IMO.

With that said, Hawks supporters are all flogs.
