Sounds rather like our policy down at Carlton a few years back... look where it gets you :p

Even if you make clever choices, it's not possible now that the draft is fully established to maintain dominance year after year, you have to have an overhaul at some point rather than chop and change. You could see Brisbane starting to slip this season, but they still have heart enough to take them through to the podium in 2004.

Whats Kouta on next season?

What he's worth.

Tell me you wouldn't have signed him for 600,000 a year when he was playing the way he was in 2000! It just turned sour... no thanks in part to one M.Johnson who has been spotted in other knee-on-knee collisions...

No your Policy was throw the chequebook at it and lure players that way, our policy particulary recently has been to hype players up and trade them for better young picks/ players.

Every few year we get a Barnes or Salmon. To help others out.

The answer would have to be Fitzroy supporters, because they were convinced they could survive, no matter what.

Or maybe that was just blind, senseless, unrealistic hope.

Difficult to tell the difference sometimes.

And Mark Mercuri? Finished 2nd in the Brownlow in 1999.

And for the record, it was Jason Johnson not Mark that collided with Kouta's knee.

Stacks!

But Kouta's not a half-forward come hack that has not played a good game of football in 2 years.

Kouta - 2 Knee Injuries
Mercs - 1 strained heart muscle

The mercs contract was a major stuff up. And it is sad to see him playing as bad as he is. But it doesnt take away from the fact that at his best was as good a forward/midfielder as there was going around. And he was always a big game player. His three goals as an 18year old in the 93 gf was a terrific performance.............im sure you remember that game well sheik;)
