Johnson, Harris, Hazlewood the three seamers chosen every day of the week.

Seems obvious but lets remember the insanity that ensued last time boof and marsh had full control of the team for england, harris dumped for starc(and starc didn't even have his WC form then) and lyon dumped the test after a 7 for.

Boof and marsh seem to love their "xfactor" types and hazlewood and harris don't have much and starc is apparently loaded with it.

Just having a gander at Fox's poll most people think Starc should be the one to make way for the first test (rightly so) but Johnson/Harris aren't that far behind all things considered. Would have thought it was a simple decision - Starc's a handy option to have and you'd think he'll play a test or two but there's no way I'd trust him for the opening test over Johnson/Harris and Hazelwood (who should be fantastic in English conditions) consistency wise.

Should be a fascinating series really. With England improving their performances a bit recently and being at home the mental advantage should be significantly lessened.

I don't agree with anything you've just said. I haven't seen anything to indicate that there is any sentiment other than love towards both Harris and Hazlewood. Harris has only ever missed tests because of injury concerns.

harris and lyon were both available for selection for the start of the last ashes in england and both were dumped for left field selections by marsh and boof, so you can disagree with what you want but it doesn't change what actually happened.

The likely starters will and should be harris and hazlewood with the new ball but with these two selecting the side i just think there is some chance they will go a different way.

Harris, Hazelwood and Johnson should play the first test. Starc could replace Johnson on form at some stage or Harris for injury.
