At least 4 billion readers would justify that little fact.
The New Testament is a winner in the different stakes.
The Old Testament is out there too.
The Bible is worthy of reading on a daily basis for your entire existence

So basically because 'so many read it' is your argument? LOL! Jesus indeed.

I really knew you actually don't know your own religion, now it's confirmed and you are in denial.

So here is a question for your 'popularity' argument. Why Christianity is declining at a record pace like no other religion? It is on a massive slide in every single first world nation, every single!

The Bible is still the book that can aid your life. How many books can you read yearly for the rest of your life and still gain pearls of wisdom and advice for life?

4 billion reading it today? cool, only 40 percent worldwide can read lol your stats must be picked from William Lane Craig's website , imagine, 4 billion reading it. So 4 billion readers and only 2 billion Christians and that even leaving at a record pace! not somethng i would want to be bragging about. Christianity will be wiped out of Europe by 2050, all researches predict the number of Christians in Europe will be around 10 percent by 2050!

Doesn't look like it's aiding a lot of people, at all. Unless you are poor , destitute and desperate to belief you will be going to heaven if you accept Jesus.

Hardly an argument, you really need to get a grip on the 'popularity argument', Islam is outpace you in 20 years/

Proof that you are talking out of your arse. Goes to show, you make up numbers and stats to suit your argument. I knew it, but good to see the proof is here.

34 percent of Americans (country with a high literacy rate), has never read the Bible. Only 10% reads it once a year.

If i were you, i wouldn't be bragging about this statistics, if anything it works against you.

,
Is that a problem ? Jesus started a church. It took that Church about 650 years to nail it all down language wise and but that has to be expected. It’s all been based on apostolic faith from 33 . You think the apostles wouldn’t have been happy with the Nicene Creed?

I am in the position of seriously doubting this narrative as told in the gospels and book of Acts on the founding of the early church, or what their doctrine was. I favour the explanation that there was a huge paradigm shift in the faith of all Jewish people in the region after the destruction of the temple by Rome in 70 CE, and that the paradigm-shifters rewrote or retold a lot of things around this time, including framing the gospel narratives. The usual consensus is that Mark was written around this time and the other gospels were written later. If Jesus and the disciples did exist I think that they would be quite a bit removed in reality from what was later written about them. So much so that if you could travel back in time and meet them and talk to them about their beliefs I think you would find them very far removed from later Church doctrine, and the Nicene Creed.

Personally, as I have said earlier, I think modern Christianity is is a hybrid between what were originally two different religions, both of which got a bit of a boost in popularity after the destruction of the temple by the Romans.

Irrelevant, your USA info. I said "can", and now will add "should". It is there to be read and to inspire. Not saying everybody does it, but they should.

Fine. You have your views, clearly. The Bible is after all THE BIBLE.

Yeah imagine less 3 billion people worldwide can 'read'. (includes other religions too). But you have 4 billion people 'reading' the bible!

LOL now that is a miracle. Aren't you ashamed to be wrong again?

The difference between you and i is i don't 'believe' in anything. I have provided facts and evidence as i went on, i clearly caught you making up numbers above. Everything i have asked always resulted in either of A. I have faith or B. But so many people are reading it. So what? soccer is the most popular sport by far, does it mean it's the best sport in the world? You are one confused individual, my question got nothing to do with what other people think. I have asked you questions about Bible, which you have continiously refused to answer and engaged in deflection! that's ok, it's good to see your only defence of religiion is popularity. You are not here to answer anything about your religion anyway, clearly you are lacking.

I clearly explained why Christianity became popular, it was spread by sword, something you should not be proud about, but you don't care about anything outside of that. No original thoughts of your own.

What would the "pearls of wisdom" be that you can't figure it out without the book? what would that include nasty verses or cherry pick the good verses? Would those verses where Yehwah order rape of virgins count? or murder of children? or murder of old people? or stoning of homosexuals? or subjugation of women as paul likes it? or that doesn't count cause you don't approve?

There are the 2 options I have proposed.
Happy to live the rest of my life here as a believer of option 1. No harm to anyone, and eternity to gain if true.

That's your personal choice which you are perfectly entitled to.

However when you are proselytizing your own personal belief without any recourse to any sort of solid supporting evidence I'm going to question your claims.

It's not that much different to Donald Trump claiming widespread fraud in the recent US election without any supporting evidence to support his claim. Why should he (or you) be believed?

I've read the Bible cover to cover ten or so times, and consult it occasionally for different things. A great piece of literature, but I see no reason to regard it any more divinely inspired than any other great piece of literature such as the Ramayana, the Bhagavata Purana, the Iliad, the Odyssey, the Divine Comedy, the Quran, the Vedas and the Nibelungenlied or the works attributed to Plato, Shakespeare, Dickens or Tolkien. Even Martin and Rowlings.

You are an avid reader.

the 'pearls of knowledge' he gathered over the years is enough lol. I wonder what are his thoughts on rape.
I'd be happy if I had the mental capacity to know the Bible back the front as it were, to be able to memorise the critical verses, to know exactly where they were at least.
Sadly, I am so average.

What are your thoughts on when your god ordered rape of virigin women and killing of infants of a Baal worshipping tribe? What pearls of wisdom can you take from such an entity?
Show me the context.

In my work, I read all day every day.
I do like to start the day with a quiet time in the Bible.

Why not try the Quran or Iliad? What about the Vedas and the Nibelungenlied?

Broaden your horizons. There are so many gods to discover.

I asked you this before and i am asking this to you again , under what circumstances do you think rape and killing of infants justifiable? if not, why do you worship such an entity?

Having been saved, born again, and experiencing what I have, and not having time to really know the Bible that well, why bother with those? I am not after alternatives. It is a challenge reading the Bible properly every day.

Show me the context.

In Numbers 26:2, God orders a tally of capable fighters (I guess he can't count), then in Numbers 31, he commands Moses and the Israelites to seek vengeance on the midianites. They are to kill every man, woman, and child regardless of status or occupation (even slave infants), but to let the virgin girls live "for themselves." Moses gets angry that non-virgin women are left alive.

There are tens or literally hundreds of such brutal violence against innocents in the whole book, i need a whole day to list all of it. I have asked you a question which you won't answer. You never have anything to say outside of 'but others are reading it too'. So Justin Beiber sold more copies than Elvis, that means Beiber > Elvis. Get a grip on reality.

Context? refer to my point above, under what 'context' would you find murder of children and rape of women acceptable? i am asking you.
Let me read those verses you refer to.
I have replied to some of God's dealings with His people in the OT before, and of course, it can not be explained .
There is plenty of tough reading all of us agree with that.
Ezekiel 18 does explain a lot of what God thinks about our sin and its punishment.
