At a minimum the optics of these clowns attacking indigenous women unprovoked means the government has no choice other than to go as hard as possible imo - assume hate crime charges. Doubt Sewell is making bail either. Not sure what the game plan was though I hope it ends with many gaol beatdowns.
Why were they escorted by the cops in some states?

Why were they not kettled and dragged out one by one like the cops have for any protest against, say, locking asylum seekers up in what we might call concentration camps?

The cops should bear full responsibility for these pieces of shit injuring and assaulting people on the day. Full responsibility.

I saw that video today and it was horrific what they got away with in Melbourne with little to no discipline from the coppers at all.

My opinions on these racist rallies were based mostly on the Sydney one which was already bad enough but it looked a lot worse down there.

The cookers are now trying to organise a Harbour Bridge protest march for next weekend which has so far been denied.

Kudus to the bloke that went to the time to make this, was an informative watch

Excellent article about the leaders of the neo-Nazi movement in Australia. A large chunk of their followers might be poorly educated and ignorant but the leaders are not so easily classified socio-economically - including Ballarat dentist Dr Ian Lomax.

The same can be said for many of those promoting the neo-nazi views on social media platforms. But one phrase describes them all - 'self-centred resentment'. A nod to Peter Turchin's thesis of elite overproduction.

I've been waiting for this to happen tbh, not many signs yet. Believe it or not this has been discussed ITT previously ha ha.

BTW Gethelred we do have a great legacy of wrist spinners but only Warney and Macgill in modern history really. When Warne came along I didn't really know what legspin was, I'd seen Trevor Hohns but that was about it.

I suppose cricketers from the subcontinent are known more for off spin, either way where the **** are they on our cricket scene? And it's not like they don't bat or wicketkeep or even bowl mediums for that matter.
After Benaud retired in 1964, we certainly tried to find the next successful leggie, trying a number over the years until Warne came along nearly 30 years later.

Unfortunately none of them really succeeded to any great degree at Test level.

Rex Sellers
Peter Philpott
Terry Jenner
Kerry O'Keefe
John Watkins
Tony Mann
Jim Higgs
Peter Sleep
Bob Holland
Trevor Hohns

In addition, Keith Stackpole (148 f-c wickets) was initially selected as a leg spinning all-rounder and Ian Chappell (176 f-c wickets) was a very competent leggie. Even Greg Chappell bowled leggies early in his f-c career.

And I'm pretty sure that John Gleeson was also regarded as a leggie, albeit with an unorthodox (mystery) grip, Jack Iverson style.

Bob Simpson was more than decent too.

John “Cho” Gleeson was a folded finger spinner that spun the ball either way off his middle finger

I think my point has been more than adequately made:
  • Aussie fascism sucks.
  • we have zero issue developing our own wrist spinners.
I think we've left out players who bowled left arm wrist spin as well. His name escapes me, but didn't we have a bloke who bowled a ripper of a wrong un and bowled left arm wrist spin in ODI's? Could bat a bit, too.

Agreed with the first point, not so much the second, we have been over this though.

And left arm wrist spin is the lowest percentage of spinner imo, though there’s more left handers these days it seems.

Cullen Bailey had some talent a few years back, no idea what happened to him though.

If it's any consolation an ex crim who I listen to on YT (The Chaos Chronicles, great listen) reckons Sewell is in a lot of trouble in prison. Firstly he's been locked up by himself without mates and the desecration of the First Nations protest camp will piss off the Kooris, they can be very violent.

This is not to mention the other non white groups in prison who will all be itching to have a crack at him apparently, so he's going to find it tough in there.
Which episode?

So im gonna devils advocate this to a point (then im gonna relay a story from the weekend which makes me horrified at the first bit).

- Initially youre a little damned if you do, damned if you dont. Unless these twats specifically contravene any laws then they have the right to protest, the cops not allowing that would be a red rag to a bull and turn your average racist idiot into a full blown sovereign citizen. So to some degree the cops allowing or even escorting them INITIALLY i can understand (as gross as it looks). As soon as they break the law then yeh, my comment goes out the window.

- I hung out with a cop on the weekend (same social circle through our kids) i had previously assumed he was left leaning but boy oh boy was i wrong. Sundays match comes up and he’s basically like “oh no defense but you know, people are disenfranchised and Thomas Sewell is offering solutions so I get it… also you should see the left protests and marches, so much worse” coupled with the old “we call everyone a nazi these days so it’s lost all meaning”. There was also alot of "you people wanted softer laws and you people want the rainbow love ins" (i assume you people being "the left". So who ****ing knows with them anymore.

I’d be telling anyone who spoke to me like that on any issue they were no longer my friend.

It’s the tolerance of those views that allows them to propagate. Let those people know you don’t want to be friends with dickheads like that.
