I know which side of the draw I want the womens winner to come from, so long as it's not Venus.

I'd prefer Venus To Serena.

Thankfully Serena has just left the Open, hopefully Venus will follow tomorrow.

Yay Serena is gone, i thought she'd cream Jelana but obviously wasn't concentrating enough to get the job done today.

I'd love it if the final was contested by the unlikely competitors - i certainly be torn as to who to cheer for if it was between Jankovic or Ivanovic

Yes! Piss off Serena! Now all we need is for Ana to send the other one packing tomorrow and I'll be a very happy man!

Agreed although I can stand Venus a bit more as at least she has a volley game!

Nieminen with a couple of set point on Rafa's serve, but can't convert and Rafa ends up holding to 5-5.

Nieminen's serve had been on fire too. Hadn't even looked like getting broken all set until he actually did.

Jankovic in the semis indeed. Would have to be close to the worst semi finalist performance-wise. Struggled past every opponent only just falling over the line.

No, the worst one will be Radowska or Hanchacova..it is a dead joke that one of those two make a semi and Henin-Sharapova are playing a quarter!

Ah, so add you to the list of January tennis fans. Hantuchova is as average as they come but Radwanska is a terrific young talent. She's only 18 and has already had some great wins over the top players. She beat Sharapova at the US last year. She played Ivanovic at the AO last year and pushed her to 3 sets. She beat Kuznetsova and Petrova back-to-back, very impressive wins. She's fearless, has great groundstrokes and is a very smart player. Show her some respect, she might not be ready to win a Slam just yet but she'll be up there for many years.

So what..yes she has potential..Sharapova has won 2 slams..made 1 more final made numerous Semis, Henin has won every Major bar Wimbledon..are you telling me Radwoska or Hanchacova should be in the semis ahead of these two players. You are kidding yourself. This is EXACTLY why all Slams should use Wimbledon's seeding process as it is a disgrace that the top half was so uneven with the bottom half. Heck when Kuznetsova is the best player in the bottom half it shows big flaws in the system!

Well, as I just pointed out, Radwanka did beat Sharapova only a few months ago at a Slam, so why doesn't she deserve to be in the Semi ahead of her? You say she has potential, which she clearly does, but she's better than that. She's already a seeded player who's knocked off 3 top 10 players already in her short career. Once again, give her some respect, Kuznestova isn't the best player on tour but she got to #2 in the world and Radwanska beat her.

It shows massive flaws in the system. I tell you what you would not see a Wimbledon draw as lopsided as this Australian Open (both men and womens). It has been a disgrace. This is exactly why the AO and the US and French need to move towards a flexible seeding system. You would not have had Serena lower than 5 in the Wimbledon seeding system, and Sharapova would have been higher as well. It needs changing becuase whoever wins in that quarter will just be cannon fodder for Ivanovic/Venus and it is not what you want in a Grand Slam Semi!

Gee, 7 of the 8 players who made the Quarters are top 10 seeds and you're complaining. The only one who isn't it Radwanska, and she defeated the #2 seed on her way to the QF's. I'd say it worked out pretty well, of course Hantuchova is an exceptionally weak top 10 seed but that's the way it goes. Henin/Sharapova makes for a great QF, and the winner has to play Jankovic, the 3rd seed and world #4. On the bottom half it's 3 v 8 and 9 v Radwanska (29) which, barring upsets, would've been #2.

No need to complain.

What performances..one struggled againt Kirilenko and one whilst playing well hasn't been massively convincing either.

Jankovic.
10-8, 3 sets in rd 1, should have lost.
Fell over the line in 2nd set of rd 2 VS Gallovits 7-5, possibly was up much more / had many match points
Dropped a set VS Razzano
Her match VS Dellaqua was one of the worst ive ever seen, highly embarrassing for her.

Jankovic is doubting herself during her matches and thats costing her sets, breaks and a easy match that she should of lost V Paczek:( i come from the same country as her and i am a huge fan.... but i am disgusted by her last few matches. TODAYS MATCH VS WILLIAMS WAS EXTRAORDINARY! she believed she could do it and eventually did ! :):):)!!!!welldone jelena.. pomozi boze

****in stupid Henin. I knew Sharapova had the match in the bag but I thought Henin would fight out a set. So I put money on 2-1 Sharapova. This is why I don't bet much, even when I know who will win I still lose money:mad:
