FFS.

That would make Stratton a Blight/TI/Terry Daniher/Peter Knights hybrid.

Here's how the story goes:
Decent young player, who's shown a little bit, gets compared to superstar gun of the game, off first 5-10 games. Subsequently gets nowhere near, is only solid or decent and disappoints everyone who's expecting superstar gun level, despite actually being pretty good in and of themself.
Fans disappointed, player seen to be underwhelming, actuality is nothing of the sort.
Gets me every time.

Nice work editing out my disclaimer. I'm completely realistic when it comes to this kinda stuff. I couldn't have been more impressed with Batchelor's debut season. Maybe he will be as good as Entight only in my wildest dreams. He plays just like him, and they share many attributes. That's all I meant.

You said he was a clone of the best exponent of that role in the entire league. That is an extremely, extremely high mark to set - disclaimer or not, I think Enright had 1 or 2 quiet years in his earlier days - for a kid who has had maybe 5 good (and 8 solid) games,

Yeah so I got a bit excited on the topic and may have exaggerated. He's almost identical in the style he plays, I don't necessarily think he'll be anywhere near as good. There's no need to take everyone to task over everything just due to the use of a word. I do think I'm very realistic compared to many Tiger fans. I just have a great deal of faith in Batch. As I said, one of the players I'm most excited about on our whole list.

Gotta Love the Stratocaster! How many senior games have they both played?
Stratton looked like a great pickup before injury & came back strong late last year!

Batchelor I havent seen enough of but would take the hawk on what I have witnessed

He did well to get back at all last year, that knee injury looked horrific(similar to Laidlers).

Stratton was a revelation when he crossed to us from the WAFL. We instantly had a young defender who could play tall and small, but could also read the ball better than almost anyone else in our defensive end.

Good for you for admitting it mate, we all do it but only very few of us realise and announce our mistakes.:thumbsu:

Definitely stratton. I think Batchelor will be a good reliable player but Stratton is better now and should remain better.
