Stratton for me. Tigers fans rate Batchelor highly however to me seems a ltitle overated.

Weird poll. Stratton has 2+ years senior footy on Batch, plus an extra year in the AFL. Way too early to make a call on this.

FWIW Batch is unlikely to be a star, but could be anything from a good to very good to (outside chance) great player.

Im a big big fan of Stratton, and think he will be a very solid defender for the hawks. But to compare him to Batch is ridiculous, since he's had a couple more years AFL experience.
Batch is very underrated outside of RFC though. He ticks all the boxes and pretty much never turns it over. Really was an inspired selection at pick 30 from FJ.

At this point I'd take Stratton, but I do believe once Batch is in the system as long as Stratton has been now, he will be well entrenched in the AFL top 50..

So next year then?;)

Bold call to say the least.

Big call, I personally can't see Batchelor entrenching himself in the ALF top 50 in the next 12 months.

Stratton by a fair bit so far - Batchelor seems to be a bit of an in between size, he looked alright last year but Stratton's debut year was very, very good. Could change though

Hard to really judge. I'd of course take Stratton so far, but he's been in the system for a year or so longer. From what I've seen he'll be a good-very good player for the Hawls. A real find.

Batch is a fine young player too (and a great bloke to boot), but he hasn't shown enough to be rated ahead of Stratton yet.

Yee fair to say i got a little excited. Thought Stratton had 2 yrs on Batch..
Stratton gets me wet, but not as much as Batch does...

After 2010 it was debatable who was better out of Stratton & Ben Reid, Stratton injured himself early on last year so wasn't able to improve at the rate Reid did. Obviously Reid went on to have a sensational 2011 being named AA CHB, who knows how Stratton may have gone if he was fit?

yeah stupid poll! cant judge until after this season. Batch will be moved around this year a bit, playing on the wing most of the time. he has great potential and i expect him to step up a level this year. You cant judge a player off one season lol unless its with another player that has played one season. i rate stratton as well, but are both going in different directions to become different types of players IMO. should be closed and re-opened at the end of the season

Batch is a Corey Enright clone, just tough, skillful, perfect balance between attack and defend. One of the players I'm most excited about on the Richmond list. However, will keep an eye out for 2nd year blues.

Stratton reads the ball better than any of our other defenders and often opts to mark rather than spoil. Much more of an aerialist than Batchelor but the Tiger seems to give Richmond more rebound than Stratton. Not sure that I would call the first 2 clips on that video highlights, both should have been paid in the back!!

Stratton will be a very good player for the hawks. He's ahead at the moment.

FFS.

That would make Stratton a Blight/TI/Terry Daniher/Peter Knights hybrid.

Here's how the story goes:
Decent young player, who's shown a little bit, gets compared to superstar gun of the game, off first 5-10 games. Subsequently gets nowhere near, is only solid or decent and disappoints everyone who's expecting superstar gun level, despite actually being pretty good in and of themself.
Fans disappointed, player seen to be underwhelming, actuality is nothing of the sort.
Gets me every time.

Yeah Ize has jumped the gun a little bit there haha.

Gotta Love the Stratocaster! How many senior games have they both played?
Stratton looked like a great pickup before injury & came back strong late last year!

Batchelor I havent seen enough of but would take the hawk on what I have witnessed
