Lots of possible choices but I've included all the obvious ones in the poll.

I'm assuming most people would have Buddy as the clear #1 since he's kicked 900+ goals in the most difficult era for key forwards and will go past Lloyd's goal tally next year.

It's Nick Riewoldt without question and then a gap to the next. No one else has performed at the standard he set for anywhere near as long as he did.

Lloyd shouldn't be in the poll as he was kicking bags in the 90's, but is his entire body of work is included then he's second for mine.

Agree. Lloyd was the group before.

N. Riewoldt or Fevola for me. Fev didn't have the height of most of these guys and was more like the forwards of the 80's and 90's.

Gotta remember with Pav he wasn't always a KPF and played in horrendous teams for years. Like 80% of his career.

In saying that... Kent Kingsley.

I mean, Fevola. Hall's probably a little underrated with 0 votes but I know how people with reputations are viewed by the public.

Nick Riewoldt and Barry Hall.

People forget just how good Hall was at his peak. Averaged 7.03 marks (1.96 contested) and 2.88 goals per game from 2000 onwards (237 games, 2000-2011), which equates to a 155 mark/63 goal year on average over a 22 game season.

Bringing a specific time period into the equation is always a bit fraught. Who is/was the best player out of the names listed, and who played the best football since the year 2000 become two different propositions apparently. Lloyd was the best player out of that lot.

id pick pavlich as he still managed to 700 goals whilst spending over a third of his career in either midfield or defence earning all Australian in both positions
I imagine he could have kicked 900 putting him in top ten of all time.

but as a pure forward probs nick riewolt

Could never understand the adulation for Nick Riewoldt. Tremendous footballer but he relied on his absurd aerobic capacity to beat opponents rather than sheer presence and total domination.
Didn't swing enough games at the peak of his powers for mind.

If a player like Lloyd was able to clunk a strong mark early and goal, he was on, and you could pump the ball in that direction and he would go on a rampage for the rest of the game. Brilliant high mark as well.
Richardson was similar. When on song, no defender could stop these guys. It was mainly down to taking the most of their opportunities (Richardson that is).
Fevola was a freak. Not quite as brilliant overhead as the others but another confidence player who could kick goals like Daicos on a regular occurrence.

Definitely understand this mindset, but an extended and consistent level of high quality has to mean something. He was the lynch pin of a consistent contender (albeit ultimate failures) and delivered excellent football from start to finish. He couldn't grab the game by the scruff of the neck and you wouldn't call him clutch, but redrafting now I would find it very hard not to take him number 1 of this group.

Lloyd would probably by my next pick, followed by Tredrea, who is clearly the most underrated of these. If not for injury I think Kennedy would be right up there.

Couldn't decide between Lloyd and Nick.

Lloyd because he was just an amazing reliable shot at goal, and Nick because he carried us for 5 years.
