I imagine it would have been a cold clinical professional decision, nothing to do with past gloriesAnd here was an opportunity to open up a slot for a younger, fitter player.
Roll the dice Collingwood and stop relying on past glories.
Emotion had nothing to do with it. Ben Reid just isn’t available enough over the year to be suitable back up.Some of these reactions are a bit over the top and over-emotional. No use talking about wastes of list spots when we're not exactly flush with draft picks and people have been talking for months about how weak this draft is besides the top handful of players.
If we really are a million bucks off the pace to sign De Goey Moore and Grundy then a key position back up for a packet of chips may actually be the smart move
It does if you go sign someone else instead for multiple yearsGiven that it's for 2020 and all those guys are already signed for next season, it should not impact on their signatures.

We have no choice.
Salary cap means we need to keep as much space open as possible for our holy trinity next season.
Reid will be on the cheap.
Plus we cannot afford to go into a season of just Cox.
It's just a stop gapBut if there is someone useful to sign for multiple years, it's the second year of their contract which will impact Jordy, Moore and Grundy. We are offloading Wells, Goldy and Murrary for starters. Surely Crocker will follow and perhaps one or two others.
Isn’t Darcy Cameron a ruckman?Im ok with this as long as it’s on minimum chips. Needs to only be used in 2020 as a Goldsack style break glass in case of emergency depth player. Hopefully Darcy Cameron still comes in (plays ahead of him) Reid can be the back up.

Wouldve been better off playing through mihocek more , Reid was next to non effective with the amount of ball kicked to himMihocek was fit all year and got 2 disposals in the prelim, I'd be looking further upfield for that display

May not have won the Doggies and St Kilda games and finished top 4 without him. You're not going to find a better depth KPF anywhere else, even with the durability concerns.depth, all good, move on.
And people think we are a serious football club....
s**t decision by the club.
Ruthless we are not
I’ve been a Reid defender but we can’t waste list spots on players that always injured.
Doesn’t mean you resign Reid. This is why we are not winning flags.
We have already announced retirements to Goldsack and Wells.
We are currently holding onto draft picks 33, 51, 64 and 69.
As things stand we have a choice between Reid or pick 64. Which one is more likely to be useful in a 2020 bid for the Premiership? And that’s before considering any further delistings.
Agree to disagree, he was far better than Cox during the season and was underdone for the prelim, and considering the weather Varcoe or Daics was the go, but I can't blame Reid for thatStill his role was to be the out kick up forward , when given the chance did nothing with it
was evident earlier in the season when he played also , plain as day GWS would feed off him
