Some of these reactions are a bit over the top and over-emotional. No use talking about wastes of list spots when we're not exactly flush with draft picks and people have been talking for months about how weak this draft is besides the top handful of players.

Emotion had nothing to do with it. Ben Reid just isn’t available enough over the year to be suitable back up.

Good players can be found late. Where were Langdon, Mihocek picked?Players like Roughead and Dunn can be had for free.

I’d prefer an untried gamble who stays fit the whole year instead of player who’ll only be a available for a few weeks at most.

But if there is someone useful to sign for multiple years, it's the second year of their contract which will impact Jordy, Moore and Grundy. We are offloading Wells, Goldy and Murrary for starters. Surely Crocker will follow and perhaps one or two others.

Im ok with this as long as it’s on minimum chips. Needs to only be used in 2020 as a Goldsack style break glass in case of emergency depth player. Hopefully Darcy Cameron still comes in (plays ahead of him) Reid can be the back up.

May not have won the Doggies and St Kilda games and finished top 4 without him. You're not going to find a better depth KPF anywhere else, even with the durability concerns.

I’ve been a Reid defender but we can’t waste list spots on players that always injured.

Doesn’t mean you resign Reid. This is why we are not winning flags.

We have already announced retirements to Goldsack and Wells.

We are currently holding onto draft picks 33, 51, 64 and 69.

As things stand we have a choice between Reid or pick 64. Which one is more likely to be useful in a 2020 bid for the Premiership? And that’s before considering delistings.

An inanimate carbon rod would be of more use than a perpetually injured player. There's a reason for the lack of consistency and development that cause the VFL side to barely be able to field a competent 22 year after year and it's because of decisions like this.

Reid isn't a leader, we could have gone for another young, fit KPF for depth that cost nothing, instead we waste a list spot.

Surely the club aren't dumb enough to keep Broomhead too.

Agree to disagree, he was far better than Cox during the season and was underdone for the prelim, and considering the weather Varcoe or Daics was the go, but I can't blame Reid for that
