Hey guys first up, sorry if this has been done already and i know it's a bit late but i just wanted to get people's thoughts on what our best win of 2008 was.

For me it was against the bulldogs, we were faceing a team that lost to only north and geelong and were a clear second on the ladder. they then went on to build a 37 point lead that at the time seemed insurmountable, but we found a way to come back (which seemed to be our thing last year) and win for wiggo's 100th and juddy's 150th. not to mention our multiple avenue's to goal

twas a glorious day indeed considering alot of my mates are doggies supporters

Port @ Port. Was never going to happen. The birth of the Kreuze Missile. :thumbsu:

that would have been my no. 1 but i feel that the bulldogs were better a better team than port, and bulldogs have a reputation of being a gritty underdog fight to the deathtype team were as port have a rep of, well chocking

Easily round 4. Complete 4 quarter team effort. And it was against the filth infront of 80,000 people.

I had so much fun yelling at the Collingwood supporters who were leaving the G with 10 mintues left on the clock. We all started singing the song before the siren!

Fantastic day.

Even better because I was with my smug Doggies mate from work, who'd been lording the Dogs success over us for two years. "It's only a matter of time before we lift your skirts" was just one line I heard during the third quarter.

I'd been building up the match as "the Clash of The Titans" and had been saying all year that the entire AFL season hinged on that single match all through 2008, so I'd let myself in for considerable payback.

I came into work Monday with my Carlton top on, and did the usual "Morning Ralph". He turned around and did such a double-take he banged his head into his own bookshelf.

Our win against Port Adelaide at the Telstra Dome.

For the first time in many years, we strung four solid quarters of football together - Port never stood a chance. That's what I wanted to see from the boys this year. :thumbsu:

Walks was brilliant.

Has to be the round 4 win over Collingwood - the most satisfying Carlton win for a few years.

We had some absolute beauties (Port x2, Brisbane, Western Bulldogs, Richmond) but the first win against Collingwood takes the cake. Then to do it again later in the season was pure bliss :D.
Especially in the fashion that we did. ;)

Fev with 8 goals (8.6, mind you), down by 20+ points at one stage...

Agree 100%.
Jamison was a revelation.

I'd actually put forward a vote for the West Coast game back in round 7 IIRC. We had a massive lead at half time, yet West Coast found a way in the 3rd, and early in the final quarters to fight their way back into the contest, before we steadied and ran away with a win.

Why I say this, is when West Coast were surging, the noise in that stadium was unreal - I haven't heard noise like that at a game of footy ever I don't think. The pleasing aspect of this win was that we were able to re-group in that final quarter, and come away with the 4 points.

Port @ AAMI for mine. Thought I'd blown my fare over there at 3Q time, but the Blue boys didn't let me down. Great last quarter getting to see off the cocky Port fans who left disenchanted while still 'a chance' to win. Wandering out of the stadium and greeting many of my fellow Carlton fans and Port fans alike with a Go Blues salutation.

Didn't make to the round 4 Collingwood match because I was at my godson's christening. Memorable however, for the fact that his entire family are Magpie supporters :)

Being from Adelaide, the game at AAMI stadium was the stand out victory of 2008... to see the toothless army's faces go numb in that last quarter was great.

But games against Richmond (100th year crap blah blah) and Collingwood in round 4 (they were going give us our biggest losing streak as pay back blah blah), felt like the Carlton of old, raining on everyone else's parade.

Western Bulldogs in terms of quality of opponents was an obvious one as well.

Just hope we have more to choose from in 2009!

entertainment wise, i'd say my favourite was the rnd12 game against the filth. fev scored two freakish goals and it was a comeback win and that made it all that much sweeter.

skill wise, i'd go for the game against the doggies, it was just beautiful to watch
