Crowd capacity is irrelevant. We need to follow a model like the NFL where the game gets rotated to different cities. The fact that our league has a deal with the mcg is unprofessional

The "You joined our League" is the argument you make when you don't have an argument.

Not at all. This competition has been around for over 120 years and for the overwhelming majority of those years the Grand Final has been played at the MCG. It is not only the home of the competition but the home of the sport with the very first games played in Yarra Park over 160 years ago. It's history, it's heritage and it's here to stay.
Feel free to go back to supporting the SANFL if you like but the fact is the interstate sides had their opportunity in the 80's and they blew it. Supporters jumping ship to support the Eagles and the Crows was the final nail in the coffin for the WAFL, SANFL and any chance for a national breakaway competition separate from the VFL.
Keep banging your head against the wall though.
Again, the you joined our league argument is such a pathetic non argument.
Do you not think the Marquee Game status, the fact that it is promoted as the Dreamtime Game, brings in a bigger crowd than a say normal Essendon Richmond game later in the year when 1 or 2 of the teams are out of finals contention?

Unfortunately it is true. The "You joined our League" is the argument you make when you don't have an argument.

This sounds like an airport begging for a new housing subdivision to gain new infrastructure to save the run down thing from going belly up.This sounds like when someone buys a house next to an airport then complains about the noise
Come back when you have a 100,000 seat stadium that you can fill every year for it.
Another option is to have the GF as a best of 3 series and have each game played in a different state. It would generate a huge amount of money to the game. Have a game at the MCG every year to satisfy the contract that's been signed but also run one game from Perth / Adelaide then one from Sydney / Brisbane..In 2032 we’ll have a brand new GABBA, state of the art Adelaide oval & Perth stadium and then add in the beautiful scg with the old & new. But the worst part is we’ll be stuck with that old painted up tart hosting the GF. What a relic that’ll be in a decades time. And not one sentence In the contract stipulating when the old dump will be renovated.

AFL needs to make some of the lost revenue of the last couple of years and would help finance these teams that are being propped up by the AFL.

Or, by the way, a stadium that can take those numbers you’re listing for the big games. Because right now Richmond have 100k members, Collingwood have around that, Carlton have 80k.
The benefits of having a huge supporter base for the code in Melbourne.

The funny part is capacity is a requirement of NFL Super Bowl candidates, far from irrelevant.Crowd capacity is irrelevant. We need to follow a model like the NFL where the game gets rotated to different cities. The fact that our league has a deal with the mcg is unprofessional
