BF Magpies meetup/walk?

For those that remember, last year a few BF Magpies met up in Richmond for the first Grand Final.

And someone from here created a Facebook page called "Winning Walk" for a victory march last year. Not sure what came of that, or if that actually happened.

I've got a ticket to next week's match, but wondering if we should re-do a BF Magpies meet before the match, and for those who can't attend, maybe organise a pub view for those interested and not attending a mate's bbq?

I'll most likely be heading to the Corner Hotel in Richmond prior to the game.

Well if this helps, last week I went outside at half time to see if I could get back in without giving back the pass-out.

With thousands walking back after their smoko, it's pretty easy to walk in. I still have my pass-out.

I went to a BigFooty meet up last year and it was great. Beauty of it is that even though you're meeting strangers there is no problem with having a common interest to talk shit about!! I'd suggest meeting up for pre drinks somewhere close to Aami Park and watching it with masses on the big screen. I'd be all over this if I hadn't moved interstate and be unable to get time off work to trip down.

There was a comprehensive celebration planned for the GF last year if we had won, but when the draw happened, it threw everything into disarray.

As it happens, I ended up meeting up with shawthing09 and Bloben on the way to AAMI Park for the presentation after hitting up a Richmond pub for post-game champagne.

They had it at Aami Park last year. I just assumed it would be the same again this year although if someone could confirm it it would be awesome! I so wish I was in Melbs this week!!

Ah great memories. That night ended in the middle of Victoria Park drinking beer and singing songs with Shawthing and Blacknwhite army.

Then the Sunday night all over again at the Grace Darling then a pub/bar crawl with a bunch of randoms through Collingwood and Fitzroy.

If we lose, well there's always Tullamarine Airport and one-way tickets.

I am planning a BBQ in the MCG car park before and after the game. Stack up the eskies and hope for the win . Did it last year and we were there to about 9 pm when the beer ran out. Lots of supporters around so great vibe. If any BF posters see a old grey Chrysler Voyager surrounded by magpies thats us , drop in for a beer

I ended up at the Grace Darling last year after hitting up AAMI Park - would definitely be keen to head there again. Theme song & chants went for ages into the night, was a bloody awesome time.

We need a code word to yell out so people know you are from BigFooty

Although it'd be kind of pointless since no one will recognise anyone. Perhaps nametags?

Mate, last year we all walked from AAMI Park to the Grace Darling.

A few extra hundred metres won't hurt.

With that much adrenalin in you after a victory (should we win), you'll make it don't worry.

Only problem I have is that I'll be at a BBQ with one mate who is a Collingwood supporter - except the BBQ is at his house so he can't just ditch his guests if we do lose, and the other mates there aren't Collingwood supporters (they'll all be hoping we lose).

That and the fact that it's in the middle of the bloody sticks.

However since the presentation isn't until 8:30 I'll definitely try to get along.

Of course, all this is only relevant if we win. If we lose, I'll instead stay there and drown my sorrows.

Here's hoping for another incredible weekend. It took ages for me to come down from the massive high after the final siren went last year. I'll blast some Lionel Richie early Saturday in the hopes that it brings luck.

I said to myself yesterday I was going to do the same thing. Lionel Rirchie owns, and his pre game entertainment last year had me believing he is our lucky charm.
