Birchall v Rischitelli

Having a debate with a mate as to which player is better at the moment, so I turn to you, the BigFooty community, to settle the argument.

As it stands now, which of them is the better player?

Agree with both points. Probably a flip of the coin but I think so far Rischitelli's best has been better than Birchall's. I don't see either player as ever being stars of the competition, but so far Rischitelli has been more impressive. Most players that get to AFL level could do what Birchall does.

Rischitelli had a quietish year possession wise but he uses the ball well when he get it.

Where he is incredibly underrated is with his defensive aspects, his tackling pressure is phenomenal.

I don't have the stats at hand but I'd be surprised if Birchall laid even half as many tackles as Rischitelli in 2007.

Rischitelli was drafted at pick 61 in 2003, another Brisbane recruiting miracle.

Birch is a gun. Brilliant at setting up the play out of the backline and linking up for the hawks.

TBD is right about Rischitelli being good with his defensive pressure and tackling. Birchall is much better as a link man from defense and is deceptively quick on the rebound.

Also Birch was in his second year and is two years younger than Rischitelli.

Rischitelli is going to be an elite A-Grade footballer one day, Birchall is a hard worker and consistent, but doesn't have the nous or x-factor that is part of Rischitelli's game ...
There was a good reason why heaps of vic clubs threw heaps of money at him trying to lure him away from brisbane

Rischitelli by a fair bit. Birchall is a good player but limited and Rischitelli's potential is far greater.

'Potential' the ugliest word in pro sports. Rischitelli is a better player at this point in time. Birchall needs to get better in marking contests and play a closer checking style for him to close the gap.

Of the 40 people who voted for Birchall, 24 are Hawks fans!!! (60% of the vote) lol

Of the 22 that voted for Rischitelli, only 4 are Lions fans (18% of the vote)

This actually means that of the neutral supporters, the vote is 18 to 16 in Rischi's favour.

So there's your answer Celtic. Just goes to show there isn't much sense and objectivity on BigFooty, particularly from those stupid bloody Hawks fans.
