Quick question, why so much love for a player selected at #97 in the 2013 draft who has only played 1 game in 3 seasons ???
He was a zone selection.

Try as I might, I can't find any recorded details on how those selections worked, but presumably they got him for a token late pick outside the normal workings of the draft.

Didn't recall that he'd tested so well The Old Dark Navy's, his draft highlights really didn't show much in the way of pace.

That said much happier to look at him as a DFA, rather than as leverage in the trade that went down.
Barrett sounds like a younger version of Mark Whiley....who we just delisted.
indeed he does.

perhaps why he wasnt included in the trade is that we wish to rookie him.
Not the same kind of player at all really, at least not the Whiley we had with hamstring problems.

More like Mitch Grigg, though apparently a smidge quicker (though the people saying Grigg is slow are probably relying on his combine times, which were incorrectly timed due to an equipment error, along with a few others including Sidebottom).

He was a zone selection.

Yup, that's how they worked. If you instead wanted to rookie them, you had to let them enter the ND first.

Not as exciting as the candy bar info but heard Barrett might be in Navy Blue by as soon as Friday.

Was in the mix with the Marchbank trade but GWS wanted rid of Palmer due to their cap. Under the table agreement for them to delist and him to sign on perhaps?
If that was the case, wouldn't they just have added him into the Palmer trade?

Maybe they wanted to keep Barrett and hadn't finalised list plans.

It could be we're still debating list numbers ourselves - e.g. delisting contracted Liam Jones and rookieing him to free up a primary list spot. (like we did with Heath Scotland.)

So what's the feeling. We only pick up Barrett? or Grigg from Adelaide as well?

There is some half decent talented DFAs going around this year, Achee and Green would have been considered too.

I'm guessing that humility isn't in the curriculum.

Barrett may not be the certainty I first posted.
Has apparently had a medical with Port although perhaps he is just going through the motions.

Damn!!!

I miss polly waffles. An absolute travesty they were discontinued... :(
Just saw this. I went to visit extended family on my recent trip back to Oz which took me out Melton way. There I found a local milk bar advertising in their window that they had Polly Waffles for sale. So I chucked a u-ee and in I went. While what I found wasn't Polly Waffles, they had an almost identical product, unwrapped and sold from a jar. Damn if they weren't even nicer than the original. Price was $3.50 a log.
