Its sad to say but Murphy would not be in there starting midfield, and Murph doesn't have the versatility to play anywhere else but the guts.

He was a very good small forward in his TAC days, but whilst we had Eddie and Garlett there was no need for him to rest down on the forward line.

No, I would not give up my captain, and critical midfielder (who we rarely win without) for a soon-to-be 26 year old who would only be leaving a premiership club for financial security.

There's a few at the Crows that I think might be gettable and would improve our side.

I've been chatting with the Crows supporters today and they would be happy with a second and a third round pick for a package of Lyons, CEY, Otten, and Grigg.

Ha ha, I think it's a good deal, but it's not up to me and the Crows Bigfooty board though.

Ottens should be looked at, especially if we lose Tuohy.

You are right though, we should be looking to package a few of Adelaide's players together with the offer of more opportunities just as much as we are looking at players from the GWS list.

Excellant point. Murph is 29 and could, barring injury play as a mid for 3 more seasons and then finish off as a small forward for a couple of seasons.

Otten hasn't played at AFL level for 2 years now.

No doubt he looked terrific when he first came onto the scene but injuries have completely derailed his career and from all reports he's come back a very different footballer.

Hopefully he's able to reignite his career but I wouldn't be going near a 27 year old with his body.

Why bother giving up draft picks for fringe Adelaide players that have limited upside. As previously mentioned, I like Kerridge, but how many AFC off casts do you want? The GWS fringe players have much more upside.

The age doesn't worry me as much as the lack of consistent football.

If we're looking for experience to replace Tuohy off half back I'd much rather we talk to Jack Grimes.

He's fallen out of favour at Melbourne but at least he's managed to play football consistently at VFL level over the past couple of years.

His lack of pace is a worry though. That is what's killed his career at the dees.

Giving up our captain and one of our best midfielders for a 26 year old forward pocket sounds like one of the last things we'd be prepared to do, and rightly so.

Breust would be a bizarre target for us given where we're at.

Having said that he'd be going from one of the best teams and forward structures in the league to one of the worst. There's no way he'd produce similar numbers here to what he does at Hawthorn.

If we wanted to go down that path of replacing Tuohy with experience, i'd personally prefer to go for Ricky Henderson from Adelaide. 6 months older than Grimes but played 9 games this year in a decent side.
I actually rate Henderson & think he would be a walk up start in most clubs 22.

We're probably more likely to hand Tuohy's place to youth though, which is understandable.
