Like everyone excited about Marchbank. With Plowman at 191cm and Marchbank at 193cm, should it eventuate we seem a bit small down back for Weiters to be a third tall. Unless JGM steps up. Not sure we have a ready replacement for Rowe just yet.

From what I've seen of him, and I have to admit, it's not a lot, but he looks to be a very strong boy who is very comfortable at full back. Looks capable of performing a real shut down role, but also able to play some attacking footy.
I reckon Marchbank at FB, Weitering at CHB, surrounded by Plowman, Simpson, Tuohy, Byrne, Doc... That's a first class back line...

im still don't get all the hype about marchbank. may be a good player but he is a mid to tall defender. is that really what we need? will he play as a key defender or more like plowman? certainly not the type of player i would be considering parting with a first round pick

He'll be a gun with some development and if he can stay injury-free.

We just need to make sure we keep Pick 5 at all costs; if St Kilda overpay for him then so be it.

You've got to take the rumours from well-informed posters such as barass70 as being true at the time that the post was made.

SOS must have come to an agreement with GWS. He has been working on this for a while not to have some sort of arrangement. I can't see why we are questioning Barass, he obviously just waited until the boy picked us. Sit back and enjoy it now.....

Pretty pleased if it happens and get stays fit. He, Plow and a muscled up Weits are a talented, flexible bunch of KPs. Add Docherty and (please God) Byrne and we've got the makings of one of the leagues best backline in a few years. For the first time in a while it feels like we've developed a coherent recruitment plan and executed.

Now need to sort out the mids.

In modern footy there's a big emphasis on team defence; and as the Bulldogs have shown all season, if you get the structures right size doesn't matter.
