Much prefer if indeed Shiel and Setterfield are interested in us to use the PP if its around 12 and next years first and whatever other picks are needed even pay overs for those 2 if need be which they are a need then go after Mcgovern with that pick .
If we somehow got all 3 happy days .
As far as GWS saying they dont want next years first of course they are going to say that its called negotiation .

So there's 3 players there ... Shiel , Setterfield , McGovern.
Our chips are :
2019 1st rounder
2018 x 2 2nd rounders
Possible mid 1st PP
So :
Trade our 2 x 2nd rounders down to a 1st rounder with either North or Sydney , that should take care of Setterfield.
2019 1st rounder for Shiel.
PP for McGovern.
Walsh with pick 1.

Polec would be a good get. Maybe that's where our pp goes. Id prefer wallis over Libba also

Polec has no doubt become one of the better wingman in the league this season. If he came, it’s going to stunt LOB’s growth IMO as they get their touches the same way and I think we should be getting the ball into LOB’s hands as much as we can.

SPP? Would be a welcome addition.

I just don't think he passes silvagnis own "no dickheads policy" though.

Love the player though, spunky type

SPP and McGovern both hit the contest hard.
Almost forget what its like to have a real physical presence onfield after years of being pushovers.
Under a new Cripps/Docherty reign , this will become a non negotiable one would hope.

Good players tend to compliment each other.

Polec is more like Fish anyway.

I would not be complaining about getting more ball carrying, long kicking mid/wingers.

Correct unless there aren't enough orders to support it getting produced which knowing Nike is highly possible but it sounds like they've had a lot of demand. Also all of the above will be available in kids.
My first Carlton guernsey was a long sleeved job I picked up somewhere in Hobart when I was 14.

Thought it was the norm but hadn’t seen one since, must’ve been the SOS factor at the time.

Good news, will purchase :thumbsu:

You can have more than one of that type of player. Don't think it would stunt lob at all...could argue he could learn from Polec and be better for it.

They were pretty much all long sleeve when I was a kid.

Would certainly help our smaller bodies and turn us into a tougher team...

We have too many small bodies this year like murph, polson, fish, Sps, lob etc...weve been physically dominated.

I like the thought of a tough midfield with Cripps, Ed, Kennedy, spp and Shiel. Complimented by our young talent.

Good thing is neither spp or Shiel are slow so I think it would work.

Mate just text me that Jack Lonie is not getting a new contract. Small forward option?

Played cricket with Ken Lonie many years ago. Had a bit to do with Jack. He’s a bit of a small man but can play.

Ken Lonie from McKinnon?

Ken Lonie - ripping guy! Sadly missed. His boys were the twins Ryan and Nathan. Not sure but assumed Jack was probably a nephew of Ken.

How does healthy competition stunt growth. It does the opposite.

If this McGovern talk is right and we did get a mid first PP I'd simply tell Adelaide pick 12~ for McGovern or
Pick 1 for McGovern, Pick ~8 and pick ~22 or
Walk away
I would only do the latter if we got a mid first PP though and if that happened it'd actually be my preference.
Coming away with 8,12,22,28,30 and McGovern would be huge. You can pick and choose names but seeming we all love our future best 22's next years could look like

Doc Jones Bryne
Williamson Weitering Marchbank
Fisher Kennedy LOB
Rozee Curnow Murphy
Taylor McKay McGovern

Kruezer Cripps Dow

Int from Curnow Simpson ect
Plus still have 22,28 and 30 to find mids.
It also makes our forward line our most talented area. Obviously it won't play out like this but I think giving up 1 could actually open up so many more beneficial possibilities

My first time posting a rumour..not sure if this qualifies as it's from Facebook but apparently Bolts was spotted with Nick Reiwoldt, speaking about a forward coaching role. View attachment 548821

Doubt that is even them. NR was in adelaide last night on the beers and BB would be in Melbourne with a game to come tonight. If it is them. Worst photo ever!

Thought I'd share a cryptic one from another TC alum (name withheld as it appears on a different board)

Jarrad Schofield’s son will join the Port Adelaide Academy when his father joins Port Adelaide as an assistant coach.

#SOAG Son of a gun is Tai Schofield

#PAFCNOTAFC Port Adelaide Football Club not Adelaide Football Club.

I don’t think it has anything to do with Carlton

Was just on the Cats board taking a look when I noticed one of the posters ask what it would take to get Harry McKay from us. Apparently a second rounder should be enough for a young KPF.

Is this what we sound like when other supporters read our trade threads?
Why would Geelong supporters even be discussing that?
Do they think they need a young forward and think they can just take one of ours?
