Ainsworth will play more in the midfield this year. Can't wait to see how he goes.
I hope so - because i'm generally against drafting Forward/Mids, we need fully fledged midfield weapons, whilst some can be great, a Wingard type is not what we need right now (look to Menzel for a Carlton example) i hope we can go for a bonafide midfield jet this year.

There's a bit of Boomer about Ainsworth.

You were doing so well until you compared Chad Wingard to Troy Menzel. ;)
(I know you did say a Wingard 'type')

Absolutley Sheik , a brilliantly skilled mid like 1.Sam Petrevski-Seton or a fwd/ mid like 2.Anisworth will both be AA performers and club champions , too good to miss out on either of theses talents.
They will inspire on the ground and be a great marketing tools for their clubs.
Go Blues
SPS would be about the only guy I would consider not trading our first rounder for 2 first rounders for. He will be an absolute gun. He will probably go anywhere between pick 3 and 12 I reckon :D

After watching 360 not convinced Tom Mitchell is staying a swan. He only talked about this year and wouldn't say I will be a swan in 2017.
He had some very unconvincing responses to Slobbos questions about whether he was staying. Although, his manager might have instructed him not to commit on national TV. As a club, we seem to be used as leverage a bloody lot!

WE won't give them the farm for him but we can pay him substantially more than the swans and the swans might only need x amount of points for another superstar academy player

Mitchell would be ok but he's the 4th or 5th banana at Syd.

Take him out of that Sydney line up and i don't see a match winner.
I like 6"2" mids as a minimum as we already have too many short blokes in the midfield however he is an inside mid which would help out Cripps and we really need to win the contested ball first to offload to murphy gibbs Boek etc.

The only players under 185 cms in our 22 are Ed Curnow, Graham, Murphy, Wright, Buckley and Simpson

Absolute ball magnet. He'd be an asset to most teams. Also knows where the goals are. We could do worse.
He can find it no doubt and he'd certainly improve our side.

If we can get him for reasonable dollars and a reasonable pick I'm ok with it. But I stand by the statement that he's 4th or 5th mid in that team.

If he comes to us he will need to become a number 2 or 3 mid, that's a big difference.

He's the 4th, behind Parker, Hannebery, JPK in that order (he's playing better than JPK is this year though)

But the point is where would he be in our side?

He'd clearly be our 3rd best mid behind Cripps and Murphy, and possibly by next year with more improvement our second best behind Cripps.

He'd improve our side, end of.

Kieran Jack is possibly 4th.

Kennedy is getting the opposition defensive work and Mitchell doesn't get any.

So he'd be a handy pick up at the right price but he's only a B grader.

We're asking to turn. B grader to an A grader.

Not impossible, but it's a step up.
