Of course we should be looking. Other clubs are already circling. We can look without offering anything but it doesn't hurt us to let him know we might be interested depending on how things work out.
Then let other clubs circle.
I don't want him unless we know what's going on with WADA. And I don't believe the CAS hearing is being held until November, well after the trade period finishes. Plus Essendon won't deal with us. And even if the WADA hearing wasn't happening, Essendon are way too hard to deal with.

I just can't see anyone going through with suspending a team for two years. Not a 'professional' sports team. Will be interesting to see though.

If he is not going to be suspended, I am certainly in the camp of getting him. I do like the idea of getting him in his prime for free though. Maybe we are just pissing in his pocket now so he is keen to come across at the end of a potential suspension.

As I said though, I just cannot see it happening. As much as I would like swim in bummer tears...
The team is not being judged the individual players are. If they get found guilty they will get suspended for two years and there will be no backdating. They have no brownie points to claim now and the AFL can't fix it so they miss no games. CAS won't sit until November, after the trade period.

Forget Carlisle.

Really don't understand all the emphatic 'no to Carlisle' I'm seeing...is as close to a Hendo replacement as you can get.
Lets me help you out

He was a crap player

He was involved in Essendon's doping program

He became a good player

Essendon stopped doping

He is a crap player again!!!!!!!!!

Just had a very interesting conversation with a guy who went to school with and is good mates with a former Blue. Said Mick Malthouse wasn't liked at all by the younger playing group as he had no intention of playing them and gave them no opportunities whatsoever.

An ex-player comes through work and told me last year that he didn't rate Mick at all and that he thought he wasn't the right coach for us, I thought this was pretty interesting at the time. He came in again Monday and said that he could see the players were scared to make a mistake and didn't respond to Mick. The player said he could tell from watching games that this was the case because he'd had a coach like that and it effected him in the same way. Also said a lot of players these days don't like Mick's style of coaching and discipline.

These things were pretty obvious, but always interesting hearing it from someone who's been there.

Ange Christou told me that the Carlton players all hated Dennis Pagan also.

In fact - Christou (who wasn't being played by Pagan) had a deal lined up to be traded to either Hawthorn or Adelaide, but Carlton deliberately refused to release his medical records to either club (to stitch him up) telling him "nobody leaves Carlton".

Another reason why I think that useless pleb O'Sullivan should be shown the door from the club.

But that's clearly not true - Mick did play younger players.

Graham was the only example of a young player clearly deserving of more game time then what he was given, and even though I didn't agree with it, it's also OK for some players to just develop in the reserves for a while. This is what occurs with the top teams. Maybe doing that has allowed Graham, Buckley etc. to now come in and contribute - bringing in Watson too early did nothing for his confidence.

Outside of Graham, Barker hasn't given any more opportunities than Malthouse did or would have. Still played Ellard ahead of others last week.

You sure it was Ang C4?
He finished at Carlton in 2002. I know you wouldn't make stuff up.
100% he told me that.

Edit: Hold up, maybe I'm confusing both things he told me - he told me that the players hated Pagan (and that he hated Pagan) but also told me that the club shafted his possible move to Adelaide/Hawthorn. Maybe that was separate to Pagan.

Apologies Dennis ... even though you're still a ****!

This my friends is an example of how untruths get spread around clubs.

Not knocking the poster in question. Plenty of people do it. Get told something. Try to relay it. Chinese whispers happen and before you know it a new 'truth' is out there.

Always be skeptical of everything you hear and read, unless it is first hand. Even then you are only getting at most half the story.

I take everything I read with a pinch (sometimes a handful) of salt, no matter who is writing it or how adamant they are about it.
