Disagree with posters who think Fremantle play unattractive football ( whatever that is) - Freo defend fiercely, back each other up and run hard both ways for four quarters - gutsy team football I would describe it as . Also have watched them tear teams to pieces with attacking through the corridor run and kicking- when appropriate. They were very unlucky not to beat Hawthorn in the GF - stage nerves and crucial misses at goal was the difference.

Lyon and Longmuir at Sydney are two of my favourite coaches - because they insist on players going in hard - every time. From what I have seen over the years, these two (and Clarkson) are the 'real' defensive coaches who turn defence into turnovers into goals. malthouse had this swarming brand of defence going on at Collingwood when they were at their best.

I actually enjoy Freo too. Think some of the best games I've seen from a tension point of view have been 8 goals to 7. Not all good footy is a shootout.
