Any thoughts on who we might get in the PSD with plowman weitering coming in to strengthen backline not sure who's available would Andrew Moore be worth it to bolster midfield depth ?

Would prefer Aaron Young but I'm not sure if he's contracted for next year or not. I know a few Port supporters who rate him higher than Moore and feel like he hasn't been given a fair go.

Yes definitely think our midfield will need bolstering moore would help that if as expected or hope we get a key fwd with pick 8 we will already after 1 draft and trade period be looking at great influx of young talent .

The Menzel trade was the correct trade, think about it, if we hadn't traded him we would have been forced to give up 21 for the GWS4, Kerridge would have been attainable through other means. Trading that pick 21 would have meant that the Bulldogs pick 11 would have been unattainable.

The Adelaide trade allowed us to keep 20 and 21 free meaning we got a 2 pick upgrade on the pick 13 we may have received from Adelaide. I highly doubt that they would have given it up for Menzel though, all hypothetical.

Clubs didn't seem to rate Menzel, maybe the fact that we had him on the shop front made them suspicious.

Anyhow, it's a net gain.

You know even if aish was available in the PSD I seriously don't rate him and don't feel he would have been much better if any than young or moore .

Before trade period Carlton's hand was draft picks in a weak draft and an ordinary playing list with only a few attractive trade bait, two of those publicly wanted out.

Added to that, we ain't a destination club.

We walked out of it with 3 picks in top 11, 5 players 3 of whom will likely become senior players (The Plow, Sam K, Summer man), and two who may / may not make it.

SOS turned a weak hand into good cash. Nice work

Quite a few posters bringing up Yarran's off field issues. Any idea what they are or is it best to be kept private? Another poster suggested they were quite substantial and was not willing to divulge any information until a trade was done.

Does there need to be more than having your old man incarcerated for god knows how many years? And, whilst I applaud his father's alleged actions, the additional investigation (and I believe) acquittal this year adds to that pressure.

Yarran's a Richmond player and he can get stuffed, but there are some pretty unique pressures in his life that not many of us have to deal with.

He is exactly what we need, I've seen him play and I'm telling you, the kid can play, they're rating him around the 20 mark but they also rated Cripps as a 25+ pick, we didn't follow the media that time and it's paid massive dividends!! We need players with good foot skills and I don't think charlie fits the bill, Wouldn't mind giving him a shot but won't be that upset if he finishes up elsewhere.. Now we have to wait another month for draft day ffs!

Must admit having Weitering and Collins as CHB and FB does sound good. Played together in both TAC and Championships IIRC.

It's exciting having four first round picks.
