Won't be any 5th rounders being exchanged for Tomlinson. I'd say a drop from a mid first rounder (11) last season to a mid second rounder (25-30) would be needed. Tomlinson very keen to get back to Melbourne and Carlton but is open to other club offers if required.

Theyre pretty much sorted for points this year with the three first rounders they currently hold, but 2017 is looking a bit thin on (particularly if they finish top 8 next year).

They'll need as many picks inside the top 25 or so to pay for 2017's crop. If MaCarthy goes, they'll want a 2017 pick for him. Freo might look at this year as an anomoly and trade their first rounder next year for him. It fits Lyons general drafting strategy too.

Furthermore, they gave us 8 for a 2016 pick that will likely be no higher than 8.

Don't think or look at him as a messiah type.

What we may be looking at is helping rebuilding the structure. Club may have their hearts on Harry and Charles as the two keys with Tomlinson helping the whole here.
