Update to an earlier post (on the list management thread but it's more rumor related than a list management thing so posting it here). If there's fresher info provided by an ITK previously then apologies and please disregard.

The same person who provided the TDK information before he re-signed clarified his position on Gresham. He had earlier said that in Gresham would never be a "Carlton player "

He has stressed that this was only his opinion and that "Sometimes clubs take on players we're not fans of."

He could not confirm or deny the club's position but did say that the info coming out of the club as much more related to re-signings (of those you'd expect) than bringing additional players into the club. His "gut feeling" was that the players we do being into the club are much more likely to help strengthen "list profile" than anything else.

I take that to mean hitting the draft as has been written a lot this year.

Re: Gov

TDK source says he's taking a considerable pay cut in order to stay and to play his part in keeping this list together

"At least one club [belief is Port] showed considerable interest and a salary higher than he accepted to stay."

Same person says still more to come including DC "soon " he's been saying this since before TDK signed and has previously said most of the work is "done" but they're coordinating the acceptable triggers (performance enhanced aspects) with the agent and league which is very common.

Dow -- club has come around on wanting him to stay "but won't go over what we value him as in regards to pecking order" and the feeling is that he'll get offers of a) greater financial remuneration and b) greater opportunity elsewhere. If he stays it'll be a testament to him 2qntubt to remain a one club player moreso than the offer. .

Silvagni -- was allegedly advised to go out and test his market value and then the club will present their offer to him. Similar to Dow likely to have gotten offers of more money and greater locally would have opportunity than what we can provide. Similar outcome expected, but obviously the pullb to remain at Carlton is considered stronger for natural reasons. Richmond, North and Hawthorn said to be the most interested.

Both players said to want to remain at the Blues but understandable restraints on our end and better offers elsewhere may force both of their hands. The list is doing what it can to keep the group together.

In reply to the above ^^^

'Not yet. But he knocked back multiple offers that would have tested the most loyal. He wants to be a one club player. He's staying just a matter of when. Expect some noise during the bye week "

Basically dialogue between the club and jsos has been very transparent the entire season.
He’s a free agent, we have/had a number of players we wish to re-sign. There is a tiered list of priories. There is a limited amount of money.
Conversations basically said, we’d like to keep you, we don’t know what that offer will look like until the end of the year, you are well within your rights to speak with others.
If you left on a better deal, no hard feelings, but we cant’t present a contract offer to you until later in the year, so don’t burn bridges with other clubs if you feel it will be detrimental to your own career.
He’s recently donated blood, it came out navy blue, he immediately told his manager that’s he’s not really interested in leaving.

We cooled on Gresham.
He had interest in us, and a figure around 500k seemed to be the going rate.
But SOS was never going to let him leave for a band 3 compo pick and we were never going to enter into a bidding war for a player like that.

Saints and Bombers are now working together to do some very clever/edgy deals that would see the saints take Shiel and his full salary for a semi high pick, but the bombers will the pay Gresham extreme overs to ensure the saints get band 1 compo… clever… dodgy… somewhere in the middle. These are the deals the SOS and Adrian like to do.

We are definitely positioning for some deals and picks.

Talk yesterday was we are looking at improving our draft position and also targeting some specific players.
Money not a big issue as mid year we were strongly targeting Flanders from GCS until he resigned. We have also signed many players on base deals. Cook and Co have addressed our SC issues

This year is about adding quality depth. It’s seen as our weakness. Some key people are very excited about the 2 Irishmen we signed. Many clubs chasing them. Names like Khamis Fullarton also mentioned

Hollands is definitely on the radar. Gresham still a possible. Crozier if he gets delisted we will look grab.

Dow & Fisher to be traded ONLY to strengthen our position. We would be okay if they stayed but preference is picks.

We are looking at a couple of VFL type players to trial over pre season

6-8 changes look to be the range with 3 draft picks and the rest trades, Mature rookies etc

Interesting take/info regarding Dow.

There is no ‘deal’ on offer. It’s a 3 year contract offer compared to our 1 year offer. Money is equal (read basic) from both ends. Saints want him for free/very cheap and/or we get a weak compensation pick from AFL. Saints also looking to bring in Shiel from * which is having Dow contemplating staying. No guarantees of playing time, just more years. Dow returning from OS this weekend for B&F. Players want him to stay. (I think that was all) - Source: mate who spoke recently with ex-Premiership player.
