MELBOURNE has delisted defender/midfielder Jace Bode and forward Isaac Weetra.
Bode, who turns 21 years old on September 14, played nine matches for the Demons, including five this year, after debuting in 2007.
The South Australian was originally drafted by Melbourne from Sturt at No.9 in the 2006 NAB AFL Rookie Draft (held in December 2005), after winning under-18 All-Australian honours that year.
He also impressed at the 2005 NAB AFL Draft Camp with a 20-metre sprint time of 2.98 seconds.
At the end of the 2006 season, Bode was retained on the club's rookie list for a second year. In round 19, 2007, he made his AFL debut against the Western Bulldogs and played in Melbourne's final four matches that season under Mark Riley.
Bode was elevated onto the senior list for the 2008 season, playing in round two, before featuring in four consecutive matches from rounds 11 to 14.
Weetra was a surprise selection at the 2006 NAB AFL Draft, where he was selected at No.62.
But he impressed with the Australian Indigenous youth team against South Africa earlier that year.
He also won the Naish Travers Medal as a 16-year-old for his best-on-ground efforts, representing West Whyalla in the Whyalla Football League Grand Final.
Weetra, 19, made his AFL debut against Hawthorn in round one this year and played the following week against the Western Bulldogs. These were his only two matches with the Demons.
Bode and Weetra's delistings add to the departures of Melbourne greats Adem Yze and Jeff White, who are both hoping to extend their AFL careers elsewhere. Ben Holland has also retired.
definately elevation for WONNAThat bring's us up to 6 spots with Neitz, Yze, White & Holland.
Rookie elevation for Aussie, maybe for Valenti, Warnock. That only leaves us with 3 or 4 (Valenti remaining on rookie list) to fill with draftees. Either a few more to come or we'll be off-loading players during trade week

Valenti not up too it surely thats a joke? he's been greatdefinately elevation for WONNA
Valenti is no good sorry but he isnt up to afl.
Also Carroll will be gone shorlty
How can people still be saying Valenti is no good?
he was awesome for us this year and i would expect him to be in the starting 22 next year with ease as i would much prefer him in the side than players like bartram, bell, whelan, frawley, newton, dunn ( im aware some of those players are developing key positions) but valenti is surely better than all of those ive named
New to the forum guys so hello to all my fellow Demon supporters.
Think Dean Baily is making some very tough but needed decisions. Unfortunately I think more should occur as I have detailed below. The challenge is always not kicking everyone off the boat at once but surely there are more changes to come. What do you guys think
PlayerSummaryBartram, ClintNot bad but needs to work on his pace a fitness. After an injury plagued two years needs a good one in 09 to stay on the booksBate, MatthewNext year should be the year he breaks into the elite ranks. Has the potential but lacks that zip off the mark.Bell, DanielShould be delisted. No argument he tries but has poor vision and gets caught way too much.Bode, JaceAgain a another slow player who lacks height and pace. Probably will get delistedBruce, CameronSolid year and could win B & F. Needs some hardness around him as he is a great outside player.Buckley, SimonLacks early speed but has some potential=You are on Drugs. Again like Bell lacks vision and needs to work on this. Would not be in any other teams best 30 but should be kept on the list as he certainly knows how to find the ball. Also skills need to be worked on as turns it over quite a bitCarroll, NathanToo slow for AFL but has got the maximum out of himself. Should be delistedCheney, KyleUnknownDavey, AaronAt the cross roads and needs a huge season to be kept on the books. Should look to Leon David to see his work ethic over the last couple of years as we need him to play on the ball. His breaks win games and change the momentum in games fast but we don't see enough of it. If it isn't fitness, then the mental side is even more of a worryDunn, LyndenNot big enough to play key position and lacks speed and a leap to make it at AFL. If he gets another chance he will be lucky but you can't drop everyone.Frawley, JamesReal disappointment. Bit slow and poor skills. Think the club should look for a trade or delist.Garland, ColinReally impressive backman and could be the nucleus along with Warnock to a great backline of the future. Clearly needs weight room time and should work on mobility and speed in the off season, but a potential captain of the club in the light of Tom HarleyGreen, BradGreat season and showed lots of the potential we have heard about for the last couple of yearsGrimes, JackLooked OK for his first game. Give him at least 12 more monthsHolland, BenRetired one year too lateJamar, MarkHad his best year yet but needs to get more of it around the ground. His biggest challenge is his work rate as when he is near it things happen. More km's needed in the legs and he could become one of the top 4 ruckman in the league.Johnson, Chris A.Had his best year to date but still lacks consistency. Bit lose at times but was impressed with improvements from 07 and should be given another year. Needs to be more damaging from the HB line and start kicking some goals to put real pressure on teams. Some time in the weight room would not hurt eitherJohnson, Paul A.Good year but his mobility worries me=Obiously didn't see the Brisbane game. Not sure if he is up to AFL but had a good year by Melbourne standards. Not a ruckman yet and needs to model himself on Paul Salmon at FF but worried about his mobility and lack of pae. If I was an opposition ruckman I would plan my attacks from himJones, NathanGood year and probably has what the demons need in terms of toughness. Not sure he is in the best 4 on ballers at the club but definitely works hard and chases (something we didn't see a lot of this year). Needs to work on his skills and speed to make the first 4 in 09Maric, AddamToo small but tried hard. Definitely looked opportunistic but I don't think he will play in a premiership team for Melbourne=MORE DRUGS!!!Martin, StefanLooked OK and plays tall. Still needs to read the play better and probably lacks a touch of pace and strength=WOW I am seeing a pink fluffy bunny floating thru the sky eating a mars bar I Iove drugs but a base to work from.McDonald, JamesAlways tries hard but needs close management of his body to get a couple more years out of him. His chase of Delideo yesterday was inspiring. McLean, BrockBig year needed for Brock other wise time to trade at the end of 09. Think he lacks speed and quality finish but no question of desire and hardness. In the best four when fit but does need to work on his zip and fitness as his work rate was not there for long enough early in the year and gets caught running on the spot too often.McNamara, TomUnknownMeesen, JohnUnknownMiller, BradThe big not sure. Played his most consistent season since a couple of years ago. He is a better option at CHF when team balance allows. I keep thinking about that final against Freo when he played so well but haven't seen anything close to that since. Just has not football brain and doesn't take enough contested marks. Too late to trade but last chance in 09 although I like his hardness at the footy. Would unleash him next year and accept a couple of suspensionsMoloney, BrentWow. Not sure what to say as the desire is certainly there but is a shocking kick. Lacks good decision making strength and not sure he ahs worked hard enough of the ground in the last couple of seasons. Put him up for trades but not sure anyone would be interested. Bit slow as well, but keep him for one last year as you cannot get rid of everyoneMorton, CaleGreat find and uses the ball very well=In one game. Needs to work on his first few steps in regards to speed, but looks good at this stage. Would like to see him played at half back to see if he can penetrate teams more.Neitz, DavidRetired one year too lateNewton, MichaelPotential is an ugly word but is a possible FF option. Work rate once the ball hits the deck is not good enough and can cost us. Opposition coaches will play opponents on him that can start attacks from the back line. Petterd, RickyLooked slow yesterday and arguably not up to it. Not in any other teams best 22 and I would consider trading him. Too small of frame for AFL and lacks the zip required for someone of his frame to play at the elite level. If you keep him, then year in the gym and speed required. Maybe one more preseason will helpRivers, JaredRising star that can't play a game. Needs to work harder on his fitness and could be last year if he can't get it together. Can't carry injured guys for four years. Last chance in 09Robertson, RussellLooks near the end but one year left in the old war horse and does give great marketing strength to the club. Will he lose his leap from the Achilles' injury? If so he is of no use. Great clubman though.Sylvia, ColinWhat to do with Col. Clearly has all the talent in the world but should you trade him? My worry is that he will be a very good player at another club and Melbourne FC has put a lot into him. He has been a very long term investment. Needs a huge off season and should play on the ball as he makes things happen, therefore fitness needs to improve to do so. Can play and would hang onto him unless you get someone like Kerr for him.Warnock, MatthewLike Garland, can go the young man and I see a great backline duo in the two. Won't appreciate how important this year has been for him but between the two of them potential key position backman. Needs time in the weights room as well and work on his disposalWeetra, IsaacDelistWheatley, PaulBest year since 2000. Thought his work rate was tremendous but still needs more fitness. Needs to follow it up with another big year as I doubt he would be in the top 8 teams best 22.Whelan, MatthewInjury plagued backman who can clearly play. Probably got two years of football left and can handle the best small forwards in the league. Rarely gets beaten. Put him in leadership team and you might see some differencesWhite, JeffAfter watching yesterday the game has past Jeff, but a very good servant over the yearsYze, AdemRetired but another one who can hold his head up high over his career.
does that say buckley lacks speed?
your kidding right?
never heard anything more ridiculous in all my life than some of that crap...New to the forum guys so hello to all my fellow Demon supporters.

I think I am coming down now
Forget about my arm, just inject it into my eyeball!
Well F*** me, I read the first two players when he originally posted it then skipped ahead as it looked like a boring read.
I just read it all, There is some seriously wrong stuff in that post.
Btw did anyone read what he wrote about Mark Jamar???
And to say that Ricky Petterd is small, the kids 185 cm and 80 kg...
What do you guys think
