I wish do I BomberAUS? Actually that's what happened, the bombers went short and sideways all night. If they weren't going to even have a go at it then why did they even fly over???

No it means Essendon finished 8th at the end of the home and away season playing the minor premiers away going in as underdogs. U cant choke if ur not the favourite to win.

When 2004 rolls, around it will have been 7 years since the Hawks beat us. All those wins (and they are a combinations of thrashings and close Hawthorn heartbreakers) have done bad things to this blokes mind.

Barnard kicking the winning goal in 2002 for our third heartbreaker in that sequence (1998 and the 2001 PF were the others) probably tipped this guy over the edge.

Add Ramanauskas and Fletcher to that team and they would have been even more competitive.

I also think had the game been played during the day that would have suited Essendon more.

When it comes down to it though Port finished first and Essendon eigth. Therefore Port won as they were expected to. I find it strange how you could call playing the team that finished first at the end of the home and away season the bye. By saying this you are also not paying due credit to Sydney.

Even if it was, they'd have done us by 20 odd points anyway. We've not beat them sibnce 2001 and not at AAMI since 2000. We've got a fair bit of work to do this summer.

Funny how Schwabby talked about the Port game at the MCG as a final yet you guys cracked in the dying seconds to let Pickett and Port end your 2003 season.
Jade Rawlings missing a goal in the dying 2 minutes to put the Hawks home by 2 goal but choked all but ending Hawthorns season yet you are okay to snipe at Port, Essendon etc.
