Don't see the relevance of your being a mother of 2.
Yep, the girl may not have known the full implications of what she said although you suggestion seems a bit unlikely to me. But hopefully she does now.
It's not my suggestion it's what the girl said.

The relevance being, my kids didn't grow up as we did surrounded by wogs, dagos, etc etc, they just never heard it. Both of them were shocked and didn't understand why what she said was taken the way it was. Although they have heard plenty of derogatory stuff chucked at their pommy mother, but apparently that's ok, I'm not entitled to feelings.

How come when the herald sun splashed the buddy headline on the front page nothing was said?

If she had called him a b... C... Fair enough call her on it, but I honestly believe she did not mean it racially.

LOL at the idea of him being booed for AOTY. That's the most ridiculous reason for booing someone I've ever heard.

I straight up do not believe that for a second. Players rarely cop that much heat for something they did off-field (of course there are exceptions like Milne and drug cheats) so it had to have been something that happened during the game.

You can only boo white people or it very racist you should know that

Nah. I yell some pretty unsavoury shit at Lindsay Thomas and have been known to boo him. Its because he's a shit campaigner though, nothing to do with the colour of his skin.

For mine, I dont reckon he was booed for being Indigenous though. But the whole "Im booing because I disagree his AOTY award" is a pretty outlandish claim.

Yeah pretty much this. I doesn't surprise me if he had a go at someone off the ball. Not defending any of the shit scum in the crowd if it was racially directed but generally people boo because of the shit that goes on on the field.

Calling a 13 year old girl out in front of the entire country was nothing more than grandstanding. A decent human being would have handled that a whole lot differently, instead of making a public example of a kid.

How would you have handled it champ? Perfectly I bet?..
Can't believe how many people are labelling him a 'poo bloke' when they haven't got the faintest clue what kind of man he is, other than a damn good footballer. Tall poppy syndrome in full effect.

I think (hope) that the original comment suggesting this was just a cheeky reference to "Boogate" in 2006 when we booed Chris Judd while he received the RG medal because we thought Josh Carr was more worthy.

Yep, maybe there are some children, like her, who don't really understand the implications of the word but there are probably plenty who do. So anecdotal examples seem unconvincing to me.
Am assuming that if you have had derogatory stuff said to you based on your race, that you can then understand better than many of us why racial abuse is not helpful. Do you think that if a teenage girl said stuff to you that it would be less hurtful than if an adult said it?
Sorry, Don't know what the Buddy headline was.

He's from a remote indigenous community.
Do you have any understanding of what that means?

Yup, Goodes is the one who should be taking a conciliatory position.
As a white man, I find your position to be quite distasteful.

Stop embarrassing yourself.

I said Goodes is non-conciliatory. He has made this clear in key-note speeches. One would hope that as AOTY he would have the view of working toward a better future for all Australians, rather than just banging on about a past that we all know about and nearly unanimously agree was rotten. His views are old hat. Kind of like Harry Lumumba.

"This voice, not sure who, in this rough section"

Yeah that would've been really effective.
We've got long range HD cameras that can zoom up so close to Mick in the box that we can see what he had for breakfast, yet it wouldn't be possible for Goodes to identify the girl on camera after the game.

Please.

8 pages? You're getting slow.

He was awarded AOTY under the same circumstances that you decry Goodes for? Some consistency please :)

Rose knew no race, he brought both whites and blacks together and treated them as one.
Rose and Goodes are day and night, Lionel was a man of all people - whereas Goodes is just a man of a certain race of people.
Lionel was one of the most genuine people I've been fortunate enough to meet.

What utter rubbish.

In 1968. His athletic achievements were pioneering and he's absolutely a worthy recipient. I would contend that circumstances then we're very different to now.
But then, you've really narrowed the focus to an issue of race only.
