Never met a Borderlands game I didn't love. Even enjoyed the little bits of Tiny Tina I played.

That being said, I do hope they change the formula up a little for Borderlands 4. Can they gather some inspiration elsewhere and maybe incoporate party members and interactions? Can they sharpen up the graphics? Less cartoony style?

Cartoony style is their whole thing, without that it's not really Borderlands. There will be ways they can improve the visuals while still keeping that style.

I'm sure they'll change something, they've typically changed some aspect of their games to make it a little different (2 had more unique environments, 3 moved to that whole ship-based mechanic, Pre-Sequel had gravity changes, Tiny Tina the whole D&D thing). Hopefully whatever the hell they did with the movie doesn't relate to the new title, because that seems to be a complete failure.

Looks like another big title is coming in 2025

2025 is shaping up nicely. Borderlands 4 and Mafia: The Old Country.
I hear there's a game from some minor franchise about grand thefting some automobiles due in 2025 too, although I'm guessing PC is going to get a delayed release on that one.

Finally got to give the video a good watch on lunch. The movement looks so fun and will probably be a blast with some builds.

What I have to facepalm about is the devs listening to the fanbase and the legendaries won’t drop like they did in BL3, except they will be rare. That’s literally what makes these games so much fun. Being able to destroy enemies.

Maybe they're moving their drops exclusively to vaults or other end game like activities.

Call me optimisitic, but after watching the gameplay reveal, I reckon this will be the best Borderlands yet.

The idea of emergent events is really really nice.

And Ive been hoping the game's tone would go back to BL1; quieter, Western, dark humour.

The shift to 'space combant, loud and wacky' has made the game worse, even though gameplay has gotten so good.

It's hard to tell where this one sits.

A step closer to $100 video games.

It was always going to happen. Data over the recent years has said we've hit peak amount gamers. The pool of untapped gamers is getting small. Budgets and wages have increased much more than the price of games and unless you can monetise it through multiplayer then you need a higher entry price. Not that I'll ever condone of anything getting more expensive because what kind of weirdo would, but prices for brand new games now aren't a lot different from the 90s.

I just dropped $120 for Doom Eternal and paid the same for Baldurs Gate 3. Obviously I can afford it so I don't see the issue but as long as we're willing to pay these prices publishers will continue to charge them.

Do you mean "Doom The Dark Ages"? because I wouldn't be paying $120 for a six year old game.

That's how much cash he has, he doesn't even care about paying $120 for a 5 year old game.
