I wouldn't say "most" of the list hit the gear but if he was the one who got Stengle involved knowing Stengle was on his last strike with the club, very poor character and leadership from a senior player.

From a list management perspective, he's the mid I'd have tried hardest to keep. But the getting on the park perspective does have something to say as well. But you don't shed mid your best mid that's in their mid 20s during a rebuild based based upon good list management. You force out your Sloane's, Lynch's etc. Guys who have value to someone but will definitely not be around when you're genuinely contending again.

Idea was good, execution was terrible.

If we got pick 2, it’s genius - we just made a mess of it all and basically gave him away as a result.

Tigers coming off 2 losses so they hit the panicky Saints with a finals type pressure they couldn't handle. I think it's a fair result of where the two teams sit at this stage. Maybe Ratten can take them to another level but it's hard to see where the improvement will come from.

Ch7 also deserve a special mention for their post match 'entertainment', just electric, with Darcy, Selwood and Watson.
