Macrae
It's a tough one.
I've been a huge MacRae fan for a long time.
Right now Crouch is a better player. I reckon Supercoach and DreamTeam scores inflate people's rating of MacRae. Yeah, he's a high volume accumulator with a killer sidestep and some real skill by hand but by foot he's shaky and defensively he's lacking, as well as being slow for an outsider. Crouch is more dynamic, impacts games more often and just right now is an all round better player.
In the future though, which is what the poll asks, I'm not sure. Crouch to me seems like a bit of an early peaker whereas there's so much upside in MacRae. If he gains a little pace when he grows into his body and gets a little more penetration on his kick he instantaneously becomes a real player. With his size, frame, smarts and distribution there's some real potential to grow an excellent inside game to partner his outside game and if that happens he could be a real A-grader. I just see more upside in MacRae than Crouch so I'm going MacRae.
