The kid is a ripper & still only 20 years old. Makes a few mistakes but I'm sure they will become less prevalent as he gets more experience. Have very high hopes for him.

Why do you think he's shit?

Because he's the opposite to good.
When the ball comes near him, he runs the other way. He fumbles, misses tackles, can't read the play. How many more reasons do you need?

Love what he's been bringing the last couple of weeks, and confirmed what I've been thinking for a while now; his natural home is in the centre, not really a back flank. He needs space to hunt the ball and use his kicking (which can be just fine when he's not tied to the pressure of a largely defensive role), and to use his natural white-line fever and 1%ers. Kid will just keep getting better and better with experience, and the opportunities to build his confidence and talents.

Does anyone else see a bit of Heath Shaw in him? Reminds me of him a lot , which if you look back at heaters form early on , he took a bit to come along also

Good signs , love the kid , fast becoming a fav. My partner yesterday saw him go in for the ball and said " I can see what you mean when you say he has a lot of C*$# in him"

Between him and Taylor we are starting to get some grunt back in our team

IMO he has really matured as a player the last two games.......can't remember any brain farts and agree with most.......very hard at the contest.

Starting to make a few people look really really really silly with their early "spud" calls.

Mistakes are becoming less and less an issue, finding a nice balance between defence and offence, and that left foot is becoming lethal.

Now this is something even I can get excited about.
Has 200 games written all over him and reminds me of Heater.

This is from almost 2 years ago, get your own claim to fame :p

As one of his harshest critics he's last 3 games have been super impressive.

He is keeping it very simple.
Not trying to out run or break tackles, he is instinctively just putting his best weapon- his left foot- to rapid use spraying the ball around at will all over the ground.

This is making him dangerous as well as reliable for us.
Been a harsh critic to played a top game Sunday but I was still screaming at the tv to get him out of the backline.

Mark Fine was all over him before the draft. In his opinion he stood out just as much as Angus Brayshaw playing midfield in the latter half of the TAC Cup season.

I like the Heater comparison though.

Well you hadn't really given any.

Much of what you identify I think is down to lacking confidence right now. Because we have seen a different Ramsay who is clean, defends with purpose, wins the footy and kicks it well. It remains to be seen if he can return to that post knee reco but he has it in him to be very good. Right now he isn't there though.

I think it has just come down to expericnce for Maynard. Not every kid is going to come out and play like a champion in their first 20 games. He's growing in confidence every week, he's definitely not one to put his head down when he does make a mistake. That's what I like best about him.

Hope some posters on here can be a little more patient with some other of the kids that have played less than 50 games on our list. A lot of them will go through what Maynard is going through now, I'm sure of it.

What game were you watching? Tackles as hard as anyone and is hard at it as proved by that fabulous run down tackle at an important stage in the game.
To say he runs the other way when the ball comes near him is just idiotic. For someone who you say can't read the play, he seems to get himself into pretty good scoring situations and usually converts.

That left foot is going to be a big weapon in the future. Only hope the coaches can see this and play him in the midfield. I wouldn't want to be standing in front of him when he charges out of the centre with ball in hand.

Needs a right foot that is at least serviceable, he's going to be a beauty but will need to break both ways
