He reminds me of a number 37 we had running around in the early 2000s. Raking left foot laser who kicked goals from half back and had a bit of dash about him. Ryan Lonie. I think he is version 2.0 which means he is a better version and going to be a Collingwood fav by the time he is done.

I don't think he's anything like Lonie, aside from being left footed and wearing 37. Maynard is quicker and much tougher

Will be a 200+ gamer and All Australian when he finishes up at the Pies

You left out the most important aspect of his future achievements. Multiple magpie premiership player.

Just an A grade player in the making

He is just something

A big get for us.

Such a tough nut but long raking kicks

Love the two smothers he applied.......so far another step forward for the boy.

Devoloping well.

I don't want to sound like a bad guy because I am a 100% Maynard enthusiast and realise his rebound as usual was very valuable yesterday, but for a defender to have 0 tackles against such a quick and small forward line in Melbourne's is pretty disappointing. Hopefully he works on his defensive acts in the coming weeks.

Yep, I've just finished the replay, his first 2 & 1/2 quarters were really good. But following that he had some pretty poor moments, and not laying a single tackle as a defender is quite damning.

2 great smothers though, Maynard seems to love a good smother. Great first half, bit sloppy in the second. Should rebound well after the bye and hopefully drag a couple of port players to the ground.

Pardon the intrusion.
Had not seen much of this kid prior to yesterday but thought he was massive!!
Tried his guts out and looks like he will be a bloody handy footballer.
Few more tackles and he'll be right.

Had 5 tackles last week against Freo and two of them were great run downs. Not sure why he didn't lay a tackle yesterday usually likes to get in there. Going to be in our top 5 players one day soon.

Hunt for you guys is so good to watch.

His brother plays a similar game. Was impressed with his game for Casey.

Thought he was great for us on Monday... two very cool smothers, a strong mark or two, kicking was sharp and some great running. My only knock on him was he dropped his head on the mark a couple of times which allowed the Melb guy to run around...

Still young and learning, but showing to us now why the coaches had so much faith in the young man.

Had at least 3 Smothers and quite a Few 1%ers
