This is a good thing, you need to keep your disdain for the football dept seperate. If we don't perform well on field this year there will be change at Board level and football dept level. You are a supporter, celebrating the victories is why we are here. Holding people accountable is also our responsibility, not our reason for supporting.

Getting Cook will be a victory, I commend JB/the Board if we pull this off. On field performance will dictate where my votes go.

Denham hasn't been friendly since Laidley's time. Seems like we give him nothing, he makes a fool of himself on anything North-related, he resents the whole thing. Plus he writes for the paper no-one reads. His problems are legion.

Denham summed up his problems with North in a sentence one time two years ago on radio.

Something along the lines of :"If North Melbourne had just moved to the Gold Coast, like they were suppoused to, then all their problems would be solved".

So, I think the chip on his shoulder is due to North Melbourne denying him the chance to write articles about the "Gold Coast Kangaroos".

I think Brian Cook would be good for you, and I am a Geelong supporter saying this.

I would hate to lose him, but maybe Cookie has reached the time where he has achieved all he can for our club. Geelong is in a good place, and he may feel that there are new horizons to conquer.

Some people get to a stage where they can rest on their laurels (and he deserves to), or face a new challenge. Maybe this is what he wants to do.

Brian Cook was the mastermind behind getting Geelong out of a $9 million debt. We have gone from a club heavily in debt, where no players wanted to be traded to, to a premiership force which could be a power for years to come, all on Cook's watch.

Cook also did a lot for WCE when they won their flags too. He has been at two clubs, and those two clubs ran well because of him.

Now, North may have debts, but not the size Geelong had in 1999. Cook is good at getting sponsors, and is an astute businessman.

If we were going to lose him, I would rather lose him to North Melbourne, where he can make the team better, than someone like Collingwood, where he would make them too powerful.

If he thinks that there are too many clubs in the AFL, that is his opinion only. It doesn't mean that he has any power to implement that.

I think Brian Cook would be good for you, and I am a Geelong supporter saying this.

I would hate to lose him, but maybe Cookie has reached the time where he has achieved all he can for our club. Geelong is in a good place, and he may feel that there are new horizons to conquer.

Some people get to a stage where they can rest on their laurels (and he deserves to), or face a new challenge. Maybe this is what he wants to do.

Brian Cook was the mastermind behind getting Geelong out of a $9 million debt. We have gone from a club heavily in debt, where no players wanted to be traded to, to a premiership force which could be a power for years to come, all on Cook's watch.

Cook also did a lot for WCE when they won their flags too. He has been at two clubs, and those two clubs ran well because of him.

Now, North may have debts, but not the size Geelong had in 1999. Cook is good at getting sponsors, and is an astute businessman.

If we were going to lose him, I would rather lose him to North Melbourne, where he can make the team better, than someone like Collingwood, where he would make them too powerful.

If he thinks that there are too many clubs in the AFL, that is his opinion only. It doesn't mean that he has any power to implement that.

I do know that he worked well with our presidents, and would be a good servant to JB and the board, and not be destabilising like Arocca and others have been.

Yes persuading Westpac to write off a few odd million was an absolute masterstroke. Wonder if they ever think about what might have been if they had persisted with (recovery of) the debt?

Get a registered Queensland Valuer -take him out to lunch-get him horribly Pissed -in his euphoric mood -get him to sign an official Revaluation of Arden St from say $30 million to $450 million-hold a huge celebratry dinner -pay each other massive success Fees -F*** Off to some Tax Haven like The Isle Of Mann -taking all Tangible and Liquid Assets with you -Wait for The Administrators to be called in -Then blame the boot studder for the Mess.

I'm just happy that we are aiming a bit higher than in the past. Guys like Dean Laidley, Rick Aylett, Michael Easy were the cheap option. We chased Bucks, who was the most highly regarded non-coach at the time - but were pipped by an offer that no one could beat. Eugene Arocca was super highly regarded before he came to us, he was a tremendous coup. Now we are pursuing Ben Buckley and Brian Cook - that's as good as it gets in this industry really. Even if unsuccessful, it sends a positive message that we can compete with any club. Not just taking the slops.
