Doc was outstanding today...clean hands, tough as nails and just inspirational around the packs throughout the game especially in the final quarter. He definately is a class above and will make a real impression next season in the firsts after his first full pre season. Might get a run next week or terrorise the Thunder. Im happy with either scenario...

After being well beaten for the first quarter and a half, the undermanned Lions fought back in a very competitive game until superior fitness and skill resulted in a last quarter avalanche.

Bartlett, Stiller, Buchanan, Docherty, Clarke and Longer were impressive, but for mine Michael was absolutely outstanding. Bloody hell this bloke, who only turned 19 a month ago, is going to be a tremendous asset- 198cm and 98kg, great mobility, desire, marking skill. And most important- courage and a willingness to use his big frame. What more can you ask? An eye catching performance. And he is ours.

Cornelius and Banfield- quiet is about as well as it can be put. Banfield in particular is now a shadow of his former self.

Docherty, Longer and Michael will be very strong contenders next year. Along with Retzlaff who would definitely be in our senior side if not injured, competition for places is going to be fierce.

Very surprised (but happily, mind you) to hear of Michael's success in the game. I always thought he was just a bit of insurance and may well be gone at the end of the year, but that sounds like there's more to him.
