Recommitted Cameron Rayner [re-signed until 2023]

Cam is going to be a slow burn, but in the meantime he is a low but high impact per possession player, his endurance improved substantially over the current off season, I have attended multiple off season training sessions for many years and the difference from his 1st off season to the latest has been a stark improvement, confident he will stay and become a very good player for us.

Boy does this guy go under the radar. Talk about escaping scrutiny.

Petracca was regularly admonished with almost twice the output (other than goals) in his first 3 years. And he wasn't even a pick one !

Lucky he was taken #1 in the 2017 draft and not the 2018 one. All about who you can be compared against. Rayner, Brayshaw, Dow, LDU & Cerra may well be the worst top 5 in the professional era of the draft.

Brayshaw and Cerra could both finish top 5 in the Dockers' B&F.

Fritsch? Castagna? Curious to see who

Rayner was markedly fitter this year than last. Given our midfield rotations, Cam did not get much time in the middle or up the ground. Hard to be a high posession winner when you're stuck up forward. His impact per posession was very handy this year - in particular the second half of the year. He will get more midfield time next year so will need another big pre season, but is tracking well.

50 game fringe player Mitch Hannan.

Talented, but inconsistent and probably will be traded to the Dogs.

Issue with Hannan is that it seems he's gone backwards since his first couple of seasons at Melbourne, and now he's 26. I suspect if he was 21 or 22, Melbourne would rather keep him to see if he'd improve.

Lucky he was taken #1 in the 2017 draft and not the 2018 one. All about who you can be compared against. Rayner, Brayshaw, Dow, LDU & Cerra may well be the worst top 5 in the professional era of the draft.
How many Kangaroo or Freo games did you see this year and when you say none why would i bother and so forth that will sum it up perfectly. All 3 where great for their teams this year and will be even better next year. And for Rayner pretty sure Fagan very happy how he is coming along.

Are Brayshaw and cerra bigger go home risks than naughton?

If you think so, why?

Can't comment on Brayshaw and Cerra but Naughton was born in Victoria and expressed a desire to be drafted to a Vic team. His preference was the Pies who he supported. He's not considered a flight risk by anyone at this stage and is currently signed up until the end of 2024

Some of the above may in fact be why the WA teams weren't that keen on him
