I actually think Worpel is/will be a gun and is great value from his pick. But your argument is completely stupid and the fact only biased Hawks fans are giving it credit should tell you something.

This is terribly overrating Worpel.
If given the choice between the 2 no one is taking Worpel over Taranto right now. He might get there eventually but that's speculation and Taranto still has improvement too.

No one is picking Worpel over Taranto, Hawks would make that trade tomorrow.

I would take Taranto over Worpel, but I do wonder how much of that is just my bias weighing the expectation of where a #2 draft pick will end up versus a #45 draft pick.

If you gave someone all the footy knowledge in the world, but somehow removed from them the knowledge of where the two were drafted, I imagine he wouldn't have too much separating them.

Then yes, and it was by far his best season so far, which I guess is your point, but 4th is not 1st and Worpel probably got a majority of his votes in the second half of the year when young players are often starting to drop off. Will be interesting to see if he can maintain the impact he was having in the second half of the year once Mitchell is back in the side.
